Steve Sarkisian... COME ON DOWN!
You are the next UW Head Ball Coach! Steve, you inherit a program in shambles, thanks to a decade of horrible coaching, decent recruiting, and a depressed fan base.
The news is that Steve Sarkisian will be named head coach at Washington early next week. The sports radio guys down here in LA love the guy. And the past two years I've been hearing about the past SC QB's thoughts on his tutelage, from Carson Palmer to Matt Leinart's beer bong, and they are always glowing about the guy.
The Seattle Times likes the pick. And Steve Kelly hasn't liked anything in the Seattle sports scene since GP was running point at the Key. How does the Lodge feel about the pick? Mixed feelings about a USC guy? He played at BYU, is he Mormon?

Sarkisian is a total 180 from Ty. A total breath of fresh air, it made me realize just how much of a curmudgeon Willingham is. He really knew how to take any and all excitement from a room.
I didn't know you were such a hater, Train. Goose is unsure of the pick. How does Jimbo feel?
Thanks for the pick of Saturday's pregame bash before UW capped off their historically bad season. I was working at a smoothie booth at the USC/UCLA game at the Rose Bowl. Gotta make money somehow.
If any of you guys hear of any job openings... please send them my way.
I'll give my two cents here. I was a big Ty supporter. I thought the man walked on water. He preached character and leadership. He was going to make players accountable and teach them how to play with heart above talent.
I am no longer a fan of Coach Willingham
Not because I bleed Purple and gold, but because his reputation is tarnished. This was a coach that talked a good game each week, but forgot that he is not a motivational speaker, he's a football coach and his job is to teach football.
Is Stevie from the block the answer? Im not sure. Here is what i want to see out of the Husky Team before he gets judged.
1)Preach the concept that A lack of Talent can be overcome with Fundementals
2) Design an offen se and defense around your player abilities
3) Teach the game of football. Teach recognition, angles of pursuit, and schemes. Know that the game of Football, whether played at Newport High School or the Rose bowl is 11 on 11 offense defense and special teams. Its running blocking and tackling.
Happy holidays and Goodbye Ty
That's what I'm talking about!
Willingham could preach character and leadership... but that didn't translate into wins. Ty is a horrible tactician.
But his biggest problem, I believe, is that he was too loyal to make changes that we desperately needed, like bring in an offensive system to fit his players & better coaches to teach them when the ones that were there obviously couldn't get the job done.
Sarkisian clearly has the same fire that Ty brought, and his natural leadership abilities shown during his press conference.
Hopefully Coach Sark will be able to build something great again. Lord knows UW has the facilities, fan base, financial backing, and recruiting presence in the Northwest to rise up to Pac-!0 prominence again.
