For you Bond fans out there...

So Latino Review has posted a script review of the "Casino Royale" script. If you don't want to be spoiled, don't look. But if you're curious here's the link.

Apparently, early word is pretty bad. Below is the thoughts from one of the writers at Aint It Cool News. He's a pretty big fan of the novel and all things Bond. Pretty scathing stuff.

I don’t mean to be negative before I’ve seen a frame of film.
And, honestly, I love the choice of Daniel Craig as James Bond. I think he’s a great choice.
But this... sounds... f**king... awful.
No offense to El Mayimbe or the good guys over at Latino Review, but that script review sounds like the script itself was written by someone who has little or no understanding of the enduring appeal of the Ian Fleming novels, and no respect for CASINO ROYALE, which is arguably the best of Fleming’s novels. This reinvention sounds like a lame rip-off of BATMAN BEGINS as filtered through the painfully retarded sensibilities of Broccoli and Wilson, two of the worst major blockbuster producers working.
And Paul Haggis... dude... you are killing me. Please stop. Please. I’ll do anything you ask. Just stop.

Good point, TP. I think the Bond franchise should have embraced a new director and given it to Quentin. That was there first mistake... and it snowballed from there.

until the old braintrust of the franchises die-off you won't see anything like that....just throwing this out there...but, wouldn't a Guy Ritchie Bond be at least interesting if nothing else...that's the biggest problem with the franchise is that they're all just s step away from being a Spike TV Made-For-TV Movie with a Balco Budget...I think this is a huge travesty if the Casino Royale picture flops...this is a great way to hook up the franchise to the rejuvenation machine...or as I like to refer to it Bond 5.0

I'm trusting that they'll work at the new film so Casino Royale and the newest Bond in Daniel Craig doesn't flop. They would be stupid not to rework it until they got it very right. But then again, it's Hollywood.

Well they're running out of time to "re-work" it. They've already started filming.
