SIFF 2006
Its one of my favorite times of year. Sitting around with hip indie girls, rich snotty old people, and fat kids. I'm probably going to get a Seattle Film membership this year. When I saw the press screening of that movie The Promise SIFF brought in the Director Chen Kaige(maker of Farewell My Concubine) and I actually had a chance to talk with him about the movie and get his autograph. Too bad The Promise kind of okayyy...but Chen was swell. I'm sure SIFF WILL RAWK tho!!! Also, I got to see Animatrix in the theatre at a previous SIFF; the only theatre viewing of that dvd ever, w/Aeon Flux Director Peter Chung (total stoner). Its because of good experiences like these that I'm going to get a membership and fanatically see as many movies as I can this year.

Duke, the way to go is to become a member, that way you get to go to the private preview tonight, and can start buying your tickets in the morning.
That way you don't miss out on any of the Gala's or anything.
Word, i just bought gifts last night. I had to sacrifice todays membership for tokens of gratitude to others. Birthday + Wedding upcoming = delayed SIFF membership.
Bummer.
I just heard that the closing night film is the new Michel Gondry film "The Science Of Sleep". It's supposed to be really good.
Opening night is supposed to be an Ed Norton flick, which either means "Down in the Valley" (Which is most likely) or "The Illusionist" (Which I REALLY want to see)
I will stalk outside the Gala event building with my Fight Club coat on if Ed Norton is there.
I doubt he will be. He's notorious for not liking doing press/appearances.
I am Jacks dissapointment.
