The World Is Watching
It's Friday. Finally. The long awaited 2006 World Cup starts this morning. You know Walton would cheer just like this for America. Of course, knowing Big Red, he might pull a political ploy and start rooting for Mexico just to spite Dubya. I previously mentioned to some of you that Saturday evening we were having a BBQ at The Greenlake. That apparently was incorrect, and we are not having a BBQ but rather having cocktails at 7PM before hitting Fremont with friend. Of course, The Lodge is still invited. Come one, come all. Call my cell if you get to Greenlake and forget where my building is.
Now, let's talk about Dutch Futbol. The Orange is finally back after failing to qualify for the last World Cup. Except for two draws against Macedonia, the Dutch won all their 2006 qualifying games. But what really impressed this time was the solidity of a young defense which - anchored by Hamburg's Khalid Boulahrouz and Barry Opdam of AZ Alkmaar - conceded a mere three goals. Netherlands World Cup 2006 Team Odds: Bodog has the Netherlands listed at 12-1 to win the 2006 World Cup, making them the 7th choice in the field of 32 teams. And of course the saying goes... If you ain't Dutch, you ain't much.
"This week, the Senate begins debate on the Marriage Protection Amendment [Federal Marriage Amendment]. And I call on the Congress to pass this amendment."

(By the way, try and google "moron", shout out to Soup for that one)Now, let's talk about Dutch Futbol. The Orange is finally back after failing to qualify for the last World Cup. If I ain't Dutch I use proper grammer.....is that how the saying goes?
Umm... no.
The UK gets to have their games streamed live on the BBC! Anybody else find a U.S. streaming site?
I though the phrase went "If your Dutch, you suck this much" *holding out arms like a wingspan*
2.0, I combed the face of the internets to try and find a live stream...BBC is hooking the UK up, but you need to have a UK IP address...but here's the word from Soccer TV...because ESPN/ABC owns the rights to the WC in the US...you can only hook it up from ESPN 360, which requires a connection from your cable service...and get this...Comcast isn't one of them...USA ALL THE WAY!!!...need to find some Eastern Bloc website hooking it up five finger discount style...
Seriously, I've been brushing up on my Russian trying to find some pirate sites.
LOL goose... L-O-L. Poland vs. somebody is on at Noon. I'm going to drop into Pike Place or somewhere downtown during lunch.
My prediction: Joe will be celebrating World Cup with a bucket of paint next to a makeshift windmill in Chinatown.
I will be in Chinatown watching the match at Fort St. George while eating the Lunch Special.

maybe i'll try to get there. let me know what time.
Costa Rica pulls within 1 with a goal in the 72 minute bringing the score to 3-2 Germany. I love that they have 3 shots on goal, scoring twice. Efficient.
I'm going at 12 noon.
I will see you soon then.
Nice, a link to the local TV schedule of the World Cup matches.
Can we have a rule...I'm sure it's already stated...but 2.0 broke...don't mention scores in posts...because some of us are watching when we get home!!!!
Stupid dutchman!
I just assumed you wouldn't log on to the Lodge and read/comment/post, since that's what we are used to. Plus, you never made a read/comment/post about said "rule" either... hopefully you'll have the game watched by tomorrow morning so we can talk about it together over morning cocktails & breakfast.
