A Brand New Day

(Jayne walks out of a cave, rubbing his eyes at the brightness of the sun. He looks like Tom Hanks stand-in for the movie "Castaway")

Jayne: Is...is it over?
Train: What?
Jayne: The world cup.
Train: Oh yeah, that ended yesterday. Can I borrow a couple bucks?

(Jayne drops to his knees, his arms outstretched to the gods above)

Jayne: Thank you Jesus! Thank you Jewish God! Thank you Tom Cruise!

(Long silence)

Train: So, uh, have you been in there the whole time?
Jayne: More of less. It was the only way to weather the storm.
Train: Sounds boring.
Jayne: It wasn't so bad. I had all 7 seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD to keep me company. How's the lodge?
Train: Fine. Joe's still an ass. The dude's MIA, and Goose still hates Serenity.
Jayne: How about you Train?
Train: I got really drunk one night. When I woke up, I was living with my girlfriend.
Jayne: Ouch.
Train: You have no idea.....

I have no doubt that conversation was only a slight stretch of the truth. Welcome back, Jayne.

How'd you like PIC2:DMC? I liked it a lot, almost as much as the original. Thought the CG was very good and loved Bill Nighy's performance as Davy Jones. He's always entertaining. My favorite part he's played was in Love Actually.

I'd give Pirates a 7/10. It was really good, but not great. I didn't like it nearly as much as the first one. The film just felt a little bloated.

I'm going to try to get a Pirates/Superman post up this week

And Bill Nighy is the man! His "Love Actually" character is probably my favorite as well, but I've also got to give a shout out to his role in "Shaun of the Dead"

I loved the Ask A Ninja review:

"If you don't know who Keira Knightly is, she's a more masculine version of Orlando Bloom"

As for Superman, it's shorter than Pirates 2 (although it doesn't have as much action)

Pirates get 3 out of 5 for me.

Don’t get me wrong I loved the movie but thought it was a little to talky at the beginning and a little long. Orlando Bloom seemed to only take up space.

The 2nd half of the movie was top notch... The CG was great and Davy Jones and his henchmen were beautifully visualized.

The Ending was perfect with the awesome cliffhanger ending… Yeah I am ready for part 3.

I'm shaking, I'm shaking.

Will's father, Bootstrap Bill, sinking to the bottom of the ocean after being thrown overboard by Barbosa (as told in the first film) is rescued by this wierd sea monster thing.
The monster brings him to this crazy Voodoo chick (the one you see in the previews). There he makes a deal with her, and she transforms him into Davey Jones, ruler of the oceans.

Remember in the first flick where there was all that discussion about how Captain Jack got off the island Barbosa exiled him onto? The real truth is that Davey Jones, found him. Davey offered him a chance to get off the island and the compass he uses to find the treasure in exchange for his soul at a later date.

They were starting to get pissed I think. Just keeping the peace. Weird, I've never actually done that before. I think I need a drink.

I think the Ask The Ninja guy is a bad Strong Bad impression. Just my opinion.
