Everyday Eddie Traded
The Mariners shipped Eddie and a suitcase full of money for a minor leaguer today. This puts and end to Guardado's slide in Seattle. I called for this move way back in early May in the Lodge. Seattle could now deal him without worry thanks to J.J. Putz's emergence as the closer in the Mariner bullpen.
"Eddie had some struggles early on this season that allowed some of our young guys to run the back of the game and they got that job and haven't let go," Mariners general manager Bill Bavasi said. You think? Some struggles? Looks like you should have listened to the good doctor's advice, Bill. Hopefully the M's can play .500 ball the rest of the year & shore up a vacant CF with Korean Shin-soo Choo.
