DVD Release Tuesday...
So I was lookin' through the ads and come up to my favorite supplemental The Best Buy ads...the lady can attest...
So I notice that Star Wars "The Original Trilogy" is being re-released for the 3rd or 4th time, I have lost track.
So I guess the big draw is that it includes the Trilogy all kids own on VHS. (I myself still have them although I don't know if I'll watch them again)
So each movie is two discs and have the original and the altered version. So I pose the question: Is this collection worth having? I think to have the original is worth having a copy. If you ask me, they should have released this one first before Lucas took his wand and altered classic movies. I was wondering if the Lodge will be picking this movie up? I found some reviews on amazon so click on the movie to read reviews: ANH, TESB, RotJ.
A little side note, I can't wait to hear Gooses Review of Lego Star Wars II on the PS2.
Let the Debate begin, Lodge style!

A side note, you get the new trilogy in a box set from Best Buy. It's on sale this week and you pay about 20 bucks a film but I think it might be better than getting those crappy art boxes for the recent releases.
wow, i don't know what i'm more excited about. Dude made a post; i'm going to buy the set just for that.
For me I'm going to pick up Episode IV and VI - These are better watched without the Lucas tinkering.
Lego Star Wars 2 unfortunately might be a Christmas gift so the review might be delayed
The big drawback is that the orignal versions are not remastered at all. In fact they're just direct transfers of the last laserdisc edition (which I believe was in 1995). It may be worth having the original trilogy, but from what I understand the quality is totally lacking...
So then you're saying that Lucas will come out with another version of the original 3? I think we have all caught on to his little game of marketing.
Don't expect another version of the original pre-special editions. George doesn't like them and considers the special editions to be the definitive.
On that note, the 3-D release is only a year or 2 away....
Lego Star Wars is a must... I saw the commerical and it shows Chewie pulling a stormtroopers arms out of his sockets....YOU DONT WANT TO UPSET A WOOKIE
I give you this as my current feeling about the SW franchise and what it means to me...
Here's a selection from the link above:
"In his memoirs, Alec Guinness describes going to church one Sunday after becoming a god-like figure to a generation of children as Obi-Wan Kenobi. He is tapped on the shoulder by a woman who has her son with her, asking for an autograph. With the dignity of a double knight, he makes them wait until after the service. The mother proudly tells him that her son has seen Star Wars many times. Guinness gives the autograph on one condition: "That you never watch that awful film again."
you hear me George?...Dead...that's what you and your films are to me...dead!!!(gives Italian chin flip twice and that's when you know I'm serious)
Though Sir Alec was smart enough to realize that the awful film was making buco amounts of dough and asked for a percentage of the profits. For that alone he should have been triple knighted.
Bridge over the River Kwai 2: Run Through the Jungle
BTW, George's repsonse when asked about Alec Guinesses feelings towards the trilogy:
"He's cashed every single royalty check he's received, so he must not hate it that much"
I'll still side with the double-knight over George Inc...
HA - it's funny cause it's so true.
Wait...so are you saying that Alex Guiness is a woman? I think you lost me somewhere...
Alex Guiness maybe a woman...although Sir Alec Guiness is a Lodge HOF member and therefore unavailable for commenting...
I think jimbos hatred for Lucas may equal my hatred for Gary Coleman.
they do rival each other...
Alex Guiness...G*****n me...
