"We" are Marshall? You sure you want to include this guy?
Look, the new Marshall flick does look like a decent inspirational story... but as I was relaxing after work yesterday, watching Marshall host UCF, listening to an excellent job in the booth by Lou Holtz... and then, BAM! We get a shot of McConaughey on the sidelines! (McConaughey is even repeatedly listed in the AP recap of the game) So I keep watching, and the following quarter, friggin McConaughey is in the booth talking up a storm like he's having a flashback to his Wooderson days. And I'm not talking about Robitussin and No-Doze. I'm talking about the hard stuff, and a lot of it. (I'll buy a drink for the first person to name the movie that last line was in. And no cheating... honor system here.)
Matthew McConaughey -- Texas Longhorns
Because McConaughey has reached Affleck status on football team fanboy sightings... we'll probably get these type of encounters at least twice a year. Classic crazy McConaughey. At one point, McConaughey started flailing his freakishly short arms around and talking to nobody in particular about Texas Football and their chances against the Sooners on Saturday. McConaughey then threw up the horns, to which Holtz quickly quipped, "Does that mean their #2?" No, Coach. It means McConaughey is a tool.

Wow, Mconaughey is so inspiring for the whole state of Texas and the game of football.
the point I want to bring up though is whether or not Wooderson represents the magical power needed to push the 'Horns to a Natl Championship?...and does this same logic have a reverse effect when he wears another teams colors? (Marshal losing at home to UCF?)...does MM represent a gap in the space-time continuem? Can his powers be harnessed for good? Will we ever truly know what Wooderson is packing underneath the hood?
Best "Fletch" line EVER!
I think the bigger issue here is what about the Lance Armstrong factor? Remember Lance was also in attendace at the Rose Bowl a sort of Lone Star Sidekick... Is he the true source of MM power? Can the combonation of missing testicals and bongo beats be the ultimate force in the galaxy? I hope not.
"Clear Minds, Full Hearts cant lose...CANT LOSE!!!!"
Good call on the fletch line.....A very underrated Quote movie
Casey gets a drink on me next time we pre-funk before a Lodge Movie outing... probably for the next Nightwatch sequel.
Jimbo, I'll let you go about the mission of finding out what Wooderson has under his hood... maybe on your next trip down to visit the relatives in the Longhorn State.
Using the power of bad for good? It would be unprecedented.
