1st Annual Chewie Awards
Before we get started on the Award nominations, I'd like to invite everyone to the Lodge tonight to view Episode 1 Season 3 of the Emmy-Award Winning Television Series: Lost. Show begins at 9pm, we might have it on a 15-20 minute delay, so that we can go commercial-free. Let me know if you're interested.
First, some observations from the past year:
*1st month was a little slim on content and photos, and it's good to see the progress we've all made as HTML -newbies
*I'd like to point out the Post that ended Joe 1.0's run at the Lodge. Looking back, this might be the best thing we've ever done. Here's also his first post back, as what we know him today, sort of like the Toxic Avenger coming back to terrorize
*I'd also like to point out the first post done by a non-original member, MCP, you've had your ups and downs, but we consider you brethern now, so deal with it...
*Here's also the first "That-Guy Wednesday" post that became an overnight sensation, only to be pulled off the air like the original run of Family Guy, perhaps we'll see a "re-imagining" soon...
*Here's the fateful topic of adding "Lazlo" to the Lodge, a failed experiment that has taught us so much. Here's the legendary Lazlo retirement post.
*Here's my favorite HOF Friday post by Goose, only for the photo of Moose and the plea for Ray Guy
*Here's MCP's best cut and paste post, the infamous Chuck Norris Chronicles
* Once again, MCP giving the longest movie review of all-time for, well, what movie do you think?
Ok, well that was a mini-review from all posts made in 2005, and in retrospect the Lodge really didn't pick up speed until late November . Sorry not to include theDuke and Ctown who have made huge strides in the absence of Dude, who had a good posting record until the spring of 2006.
Anyway, here's my nominations for best movie posts: (I'm excluding anything that I've written, because I'm just not that narcissistic yet) Please feel free to add some or give your own nominations in a different category:
Movie Posts:
*2.0's Oldboy review if for nothing else it's title, which became a running them throughout the year and especially in the World Cup
*Flash by Goose, only because MCP hates the movie so much, and it speaks volumes about Mother Goose
*MCP's Star Trek II post, great all around, but finishes with a memorable story involving drinking, Judsan Earney Scott and the greatest line: "Forget Kirk, We have Genesis"
*Simply titled: "My Favorite all-time Chuck Norris Film"
*Lady Vengeance, why? because I love Korea, yes even the North
*Serenity vs. Riddick , the earth may never see a bigger matchup, and here's the follow up post
*and Finally, Aquaman, yes Aquaman, nothing like reviewing a cancelled TV pilot, and especially when said TV Pilot include E. Chavez Chavez, because I think that's what the Lodge is all about. I think I'd probably give the Chewie to the Kahn Review, solely for the Lodge credibility and the Druken Convention Story tie-in, what do you think?
What did I learn writing these nominations? It takes a f'n long time and, MCP sees a lot of f'n movies. Anyway, let's see some other categories for Chewie awards.

I know not alot of selection here but maybe a nomination of the BEST ROVING REPORTER post. I know we have Joe in MINN and Goose in Vegas (Personally my favorite post i've done)
Dont forget "My favorite alltime Chuck norris film" introduced the Lodge to the concept of the McQuade Fort
BTW. Very well done post Jimbo. excellent research. I would also have to dig out Lazlo's retirement post as well. He is well remembered in the lodge
I was meaning on posting the retirement post...I'll go in and edit...and seriously there's a ton of good award posts idea, but it takes a while to filter your way through the weeks...too much time for me to include into this post
I know that SeaTown needs to get some recognition for being the MOST PASSIONATE POSTER... He lives and breathes Seattle Sports. From Elation to Hearbreak the man has posted on all fronts....
that aquaman post was really controversial for me.
and Lady Vengeance has been released on dvd. I should be getting it shortly. $16.99 at Frye's whenever its back in stock.
I have it at home in a Netflix envelope, should be getting to it this weekend...
and Aquaman is always a hotbed of controversy...
This needs to be a week long Nomination time....that way everyone has time to go through. I found a bunch today that need recognition...Jimbo's Play by Play with train and dude while watching LOST...The Golden Globes review...Failed Lodge Activities (Vegas, Camping, Paintball), Lodge Groupies, Dukes Freak of the Week, the 2.0 Wedding review, Jimbo's Jayne and joes music reviews in december, Victor Wong vs James Hong, plus the 165 movie reviews by MCP.
Jesus MCP you need to get out a little.
Jimbo. I have Gander clearance to open up the Nest tonight...Are you set on West Seattle or would everyone like to venture to the 253 for the LOST Premier.
see this is how out of it i am about lost. i didn't know that the premiere was tonight. i have (not kidding) bible study group tonight. i assumed that lost was like a friday night thing. my absence is due to pure ignorance as i am truly LOST.
I've got to pass on tonight's premiere as....I hate to admit it....I am STILL catching up on my sh*t. What was the post awhile back about a few episodes of LOST that were like a "crash course" or something? .....maybe I need to abandon hope and get on that wagon.
Ctown, just stick to the On Demand versions of the Mike Holmgren Show...
and Goose, my front windshield got replaced today which means I would have to drive down to F-Dub with the windows down (so says the installer) or Train would have to drive...(no joke needed)...I know we ask you to head to the WS a lot...but these are the facts
Well we couldnt expect train to Drive inless he could borrow a couple of bucks.
I'll plan on making the trip, however I will need to get some things done at home 1st
Okay, I just watched Aquaman for the first time... wow. TV Networks are morons. One of the reasons why watch 3 times more movies than TV Shows. Which explains the fact that I haven't started LOST yet. Although I'm planning on catching up before Season 3 ends.
I would normally agree with you 2.0, but Lost has a West Wing, Sopranos, etc..."bigger than TV" feel...
