My favorite all time Chuck Norris Film

Lets float back to 1983. A long time ago for some of you. Goose was then just a little Gossling. About 11 years old. I went to a movie with my buddy Steve Strausberg. (He is the guy that lives in Detroit and was the main character in the Threesome story from back in the Elink days).

We went and saw Chuck Norris in Lone Wolf McQuade. The story was epic.

J.J. McQuade is a Texas Ranger who doesn't exactly follow the rules, is unruly, and prefers to work alone, which earns the nickname, Lone Wolf McQuade. He is a assigned a Mexican Partner who follows him around hoping to get acceptance. He discovers a military shipment with some high tech weapons has been hijacked. While investigating this he loses his best friend, his dog (A wolf) and they try to kill his daughter. This sets him off! Soon after his daughter is kidnapped and taken to Mexico. (It then helps to have a Mexican partner)

McQuade lives in a shack. A pit. A makeshift house that he shoots up as a target range, he tossed crap everywhere. Drives a crappy Blazer with a super Charger. Bathes in Beer. Basically is a slob. His nicest possesion is his Chrome .357 Hand Cannon. I give you that little childhood backgroud because Steve and I would build little shacks out of wood we would find everywhere in the deset and at junkyards. We would call our shacks "McQuade Forts"

The Villian is the ever popular David Carradine. Also one of my favorite "Little People" Daniel Frishman as a crooked arms dealer. David Carradine fights Norris at the climax in a down and dirty mano a mano fight to the death.

This film has so many great scenes. It is poorly acted, crappy plot, and makes very little sense. In short. I love it. It is pure fun.

Agreed my friend, I own this one on VHS... It's really a movie that should never be watched on DVD. Much like vinal it needs to be watched in it's purest form.

As an added plus the film has Barbara Carrera. Classic '80's bad chick who played Fatima Blush in Never Say Never again...

HGTV needs to have a program centered around the construction and remolding of "McQuade Forts"---David Carradine can host...and at the end they can have Chuck Norris roundhouse each one...hell I'd watch
