Fulham Freedom Fighters?

Yesterday, it was rumored that the Fulham Football Club had retained the rights to star United States forward Clint Dempsey (I seriously wonder if he gave himself the nickname "Deuce"), reportedly for a record bid of up to 4 million dollars. This would give the Cottagers three American players following fellow countrymen Brian McBride & Carlos Bocanegra to Fulham's Craven Cottage. Apparently the move is pending approval by the country of England, because Dempsey needs to apply for a work permit to play for Fulham. So the deal might take a few weeks to be finalized.

Then, today on the World Wide Web, we read that another American, the intimidating Oguchi Onyewu, was being pursued by Fulham (along with several other clubs). Four Americans on an English Premier League squad? Very nice. McBride & Boncanegra already represent our country well for the Cottagers... and Dempsey & Onyewu would see their game improve great strides in the Premiership. Nevertheless, the moves are significant signings in the January transfer window for Fulham.

I'll be curious to see what Chelsea does to shore up the Blues defense with captain John Terry slowed by back surgery. United already signed Henrik Larsson for the second half and United chief executive David Gill has said there were no major plans to recruit further in the winter transfer market. Arsenal is getting healthy at mid-season and shouldn't be counted out either. In addition, I just love that two Dutch players in Robin Van Persie and Dirk Kuyt are coming up big for their respective sides.

I don't think I have ever been this excited for the January transfer window... All I want for the new year is a new back-line.

It might be tough for Dempsey to secure his work permit for the EU... He has only been in 69% of the US national team games... You need 75% to obtain the permit.

John Terry will be back in a weeks time so that is a major relief.

Chelsea will open the pocket book for major upgrades to there backlink. I can imagine a huge fee for Man City DB Micah Richards. I think that Shawn Wright is gone( he was pants again Villa last night. Most likley to Man City. I can even see them pick up a striker to help out Drogba since Sheva is looking for the moment a huge disappointment.

Cech is planning on a January return but who knows... So this means they need to pick up a new Keeper. Hilario is not working.

Is that true Train?...if so that's a horrible rule...if Fulham pulls off either one of these moves, they will become"

"Official Futbol Team of the Lodge"

...which means we will make a bid to become official sponsor next season...

The top two of been staggering lately with both Defenses not showing up on the road or at home...I'm not sure there is going to be any 'blockbusters' during January and definitely not from the Devils...although if B.Munich finally lets' the Canadian leave...you better believe Sir Alex is bringing him to Old Trafford...

Jimbo, I agree with the Fulham becoming the official team of the Lodge comment if the Cottagers finalize these deals.

I'd also be surprised if Chelsea doesn't swoop in for Onyewu, given their current fitness on the backline.
