Holy FIESTA BOWL baby! ....wow, what a freakin' awesome game. Even Melissa was yelling at the TV during that one, and she doesn't even like football (or at least she pretends like she doesn't).
I'm out for most of the day today boys....Mom's in the hospital. Everything's fine right now....they're just running some more tests......so the post I had planned for this AM has taken a backseat for today.
You had me at 2-point conversion or what we call Lodge rule #41 I believe can be overlooked one three conditions a) a minimum of 2 trick plays must be used to win the game b) The team is a lodge favorite and c) The Coach has stones the size of Texas and plays for the win in OT
Ctown...tell Mom its ok, it was just a two game set-back for the Dawgs in LA...seriously though...best wishes to you and Mom...
Man...I still can't come up with a word or phrase to describe that game...un-f'n-believable...the Edwards compound in the 'Quah was emotionally void by the time the players stormed the field...
I'm sure the H&L would've created drywall craters back in my heavy NCAA playing days...nowadays it just takes a 35yard strike by Dude from a ridiculous angle to instigate a bit of the ol' ultra-violence....
This game also proves to me that all those millions of dollars spent on those 5 star recruit guides and rankings for best NCAA recruiting class means two things to me... Jack and Sh!t
Does this win also open the door for a co-national Championship if Florida some how beats OSU next monday??
well I say no on the co-National Champions...while there's no argument that BSU can play with the big schools...I still think playing a WAC schedule is completely different then battling through the SEC, Big 10 or ACC. Could BSU be a contender in those conferences? you bet...would they come out undefeated...survey says...probably not...so while the win last night was huge for establishing At-Large Bids for smaller schools...there's no argument someone can make that would convince me that Florida or OSU's road to the championship was easier than BSU...there's a reason why your conference matters...
This just plays into my potential scenerio:
PAC 12 Football Conference: North: UW WSU OSU OU BSU CAL and/or Stanford
South: CAL and/or Stanford UCLA USC UA ASU Fresno State
There's a lot of issues with this I realize: stadium size, TV $, bball and other sports, but I can see this playing out in the next 5 to 10 years...thoughts?
That Scenerio is bound to happen in the near future. I think that you could even sub in Utah if you are looking for a quality basketball program and take out Fresno State. Though I don't think that Fresno is that much diferent than an Oregon State or a Washington State.
With the added teams you get a Championship game which brings in more $$$ I think the other pieces of the puzzle will naturally fall into place.
Look at VA Tech and Miami, they only really bring Football to the table in the ACC
it's a move that's filled with upside....tons of it...and you're right about Utah...although I think with the additional funding that Fresno football could be a contender
probably not this week, (Lodge under construction again), but we should definitely plan something for Saturday 5pm when Romo comes to town...and Hell comes with him...
Jimbo. You are family. And I will always respect you for standing by your convictions. Your loyalty does not waiver. But on Saturday, my brother becomes my enemy, and I will show you no kindnes, and you will stand alone.
Its "I hate the cowboys week". And I vow to produce the ultimate Cowboy Haters post on Blue Friday (Designated by the Hawks and SeaGals this morning on Mitch in the morn)
Cause my second favorite team is playing "Whoever plays the Cowboys"
I have to admit I am pretty sick of the "Train of Death"... I was sadden to hear that an up and coming Bronco was gunned down in the early hours of 2007... Dee William will be missed by the Bronco nation. Not only for his actions on the field but for what he accomplished off it.
I have to say the Fiesta bowl was an unreal event! After Boise punched the Sooners early on...Sooners come storming back. Sooners take the lead...I couldn't believe after a great game the Z-man could throw a ball like that...
But the H & L play was unbelievable and a couple of 4th down plays...this game replaced Oregon St's Bowl win as the best Bowl game of the year so far.
It's nice to see Boise get some props. Little School...big expectations.
I have to bow out on Saturday b/c I will be in attendence. A loss to the cowboys could end my friendship with Jimbo but it's nothing a bottle of Jamison or ET can't fix
well...he is partial alum (AA) from the Blue Turf...but, I think a trip of that magnitude would be reserved for the Purple and Gold....whenever that might happen again...(that and he just bought two TV's)
I'd be game after the game...perhaps a game or two of poker. I have to say I'm out for tonight. I'm tryin' to get back in the swing at school, so that will consume some time.
Should we make any bets on Saturday's game? Personal, inside lodge bets.
total combined interceptions? dropped passes? third and long conversions? evil coaching stares? time mark for the owner to make it to the sideline? total # of beers consumer pre-game between CTown and Dude? ... go ahead and pick one...
Seatown...Lite Beer?. Have you seen my gut? This is not a lite beer gut. this is a proffesionally grown gut, built on years of Full Caloried Beers, Pork Products, and deep fried food in beer batter then dipped in ranch.
It wasn't a comment to anyone's manhood except the guys on the "Men of the Square Table" commercials.....those "Men" are putting together Man Law while sitting around drinking Miller LITE.....something's wrong with that.
I'd question the manhood of everyone at the MotST except for the guy that sawed off his arm with a Swiss Army Knife or something...that guy can drink whatever beer he wants and will always be more of a man then me...

Hook and Ladder, Half back pass and the Statue of Liberty play... I am still speechless.
Gotta love the Hook and ladder.
Right out of Varsity Blues.
I was glad the Lodge lost that one. How can you not root for David.
Seatown.
On the serious side.
Best wishes to your Mom. Hope everything turns out ok.

So do they put the Hook and Ladder in NCAA 08?
That's a play that will make Jimbo punch a wall when used at the right time.

What if Florida wins?

So will there be any Lodge gathering this week. How about LSU/NBC's Team
probably not this week, (Lodge under construction again), but we should definitely plan something for Saturday 5pm when Romo comes to town...and Hell comes with him...
BATTLE LINES BEING DRAWN BY THE LODGE
Cowboys vs. Hawks , Dude vs. Jimbo
Friendships could be lost.... I wouldn't miss it
My line was drawn at the age of 6. When I began hating Danny White and Tony Dorsett. Tony Hill Drew Pearson and especially Butch Johnson.
My line became more defined in the 90's with my hatred of Michael Irvin and Deion Sanders.
I will pay respect to Emmitt Smith, Bill Bates and Tom Landry.
Other than that. I will show my hatred come Saturday. When Americas Most Wanted Team comes to town
GO HAWKS
GOOOO HAAAWKS!!!!
GOOOOOOOO HAAAAAWKS!!!!!
I am an Army of One...
Jimbo. You are family. And I will always respect you for standing by your convictions. Your loyalty does not waiver. But on Saturday, my brother becomes my enemy, and I will show you no kindnes, and you will stand alone.

Darrent Williams 1982-2007
you have some work to do Train...I feel there needs to be a massive T.O.D. post from the last two weeks....
I'm working on it as we speak...
Its nice that Train found his niche.....Death
I have to say the Fiesta bowl was an unreal event! After Boise punched the Sooners early on...Sooners come storming back. Sooners take the lead...I couldn't believe after a great game the Z-man could throw a ball like that...

C-Town...Best wishes for your mom...I hope she is okay!
Train...I'm lookin' forward to your death post...
Jimbo...was Milan at the game...I thought I saw him jumping up and down...
Benny C was there, along with a good contingent representing Ada County...but Uncle Mike was back in the Valley of the Trees...
Does Lodge Rule 41 waiver when a cheerleader mounts you on national TV.
I am suprised that Papa Edwards didn't make it down to Glendale
well...he is partial alum (AA) from the Blue Turf...but, I think a trip of that magnitude would be reserved for the Purple and Gold....whenever that might happen again...(that and he just bought two TV's)
and Goose, Lodge Rule #41 definitely applies when said cheerleader mounts said fan or player on the field of glory...as my Grandma always said:
"Why buy the Cow when you get the sex for free"
Those are both valid reasons to not attend...
I think thats the 1st reference to Grandma Edwards.
Welcome Grandma Poohbah :)
Jordan. Here is an interesting one to add to the Train of Death
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070103/ap_on_hi_te/obit_betty
Update- Train of death is going to be massive. I will need some time to work on it. I plan on a full 2006 Grim Reaper Recap as I call it...
Okay, can we have a deadline of 3PM PST? Good lawd!
Is anyone getting together to watch Notre Dame go down in flames tonight?
I'll come over for a bit, Shawn... if the others aren't down.
Saturday night we should play poker after the playoff game... Lodge gathering?
No Joe you can't! unless you want to write it?
I'm down for a poker gathering following the game on Saturday...I'm out for tonight...still doing some Lodge/basement maintenance...
I am down for saturday night but out for tonight.
Well I am out for Saturday night because I will most likely be in no shape to play poker after the game......
Joe, I'll call you after work....what time is the game tonight?
1715 Hours
No shape to play poker is the best shape to play poker. Hell, being tossed might improve your game, Mr. Scott.
I don't mind being the Tully's of hold 'em and finishing second everytime.....
I'm not going to make it home for the kickoff.....I won't leave work until about 5.
Wow. Our 1st hat trick (50 response post) of 2007.
it did take two days...time to get a new post for Wednesday...
I'd be game after the game...perhaps a game or two of poker. I have to say I'm out for tonight. I'm tryin' to get back in the swing at school, so that will consume some time.
Should we make any bets on Saturday's game? Personal, inside lodge bets.

5 pm kickoff? ....I'll be 7 or 8 beers in by then.....BIG beers.
then I'm going to take the the over on 15 combined...
Way to go out on a limb there big guy....
you don't get the nickname "the gambler" for nothing...unless your name happens to be Kenny F'n Rogers...
Gentelmen. I just have to say. I am 100% interested in buying Advertising space for Alabama Football on your blog Site. Can I get a "ROLL TIDE!!!?"
Onr day we must all sit and draft out the Lodge Rules. Like the Men of the Round Table
Except we won't drink "LITE" Beer......will we?
Seatown...Lite Beer?. Have you seen my gut? This is not a lite beer gut. this is a proffesionally grown gut, built on years of Full Caloried Beers, Pork Products, and deep fried food in beer batter then dipped in ranch.

Very Wrong.
So how is the new job going?
Very great....I'm just buried with more than a lot to learn.
I'd question the manhood of everyone at the MotST except for the guy that sawed off his arm with a Swiss Army Knife or something...that guy can drink whatever beer he wants and will always be more of a man then me...
I think that's a Lodge Rule right there...
LODGE RULE #42
Don't ever question a man who has sawed off his own arm to save his own life.
