Switched Sides?

Hey, I'm not saying he's turned on us... but why is Chewy seen here holding a Star Trek magazine? Very fishy, indeed. Looks like Devo might have gotten to him. Or all of this Battlestar Galactica talk has rubbed off on the big guy.

Hey....I watched most of the game last night at Rosita's down by Green Lake. They had it on the spanish speaking network, and now I totally understand what you guys are talking about......much more enjoyable.

The US team and the Mexican team both played really sup par. Mexico did show some flashes in the second half and the US beat an team that they should have beaten.

The game was enjoyable for the most part since it was a border war. Loved the US corner kicks... Watching Landy Cakes get cups of beer thrown at him really showed the level of hostilities at the game.

The England game, now that was utter shite.

Here is an interesting stat line.

10 points
5 Rebounds
2 assists
12 Steals

And the Player?

This was the Gossling in his 1st PeeWee YMCA Basketball Game.

The steals got so out of hand they started a "No Steals" rule for the 2nd half.

What is now known as "the RJ rule"

First double-double for RJ. Congrats, Big Poppa.

Turns out Amazon.com isn't humane. Sure, we'll pull the dog-fighting mags... but the cock-fighting? No, those will remain on our shelves. We see no problem with gamecocks.

A moment of silence probably isn't appropriate, if you know what I mean. But that one isn't much of a shocker, really.

So, when can we starting talking about Wade Phillips. I have tons of perspective... He took the Broncos to new lows when he was in charge.

Oh, so you aren't excited about Jason Garrett in an unspecified role on the coaching staff? Basically possibly an Offensive Coordinator with little to no coaching experience?

Did you know Wade Phillips' dad is named Bum?

That and Wade Phillips is a spitting image of Newt Gingrich! Man, I'm excited for the Wade Phillips Era!

Check out this "playing card" on Newt? Should we break the news to Meat that his people are shady?

Wade Phillips is a really good coordinator and a solid defensive coach of the 3-4. However like Dick Jauron, Jim Fassel, Dom Capers he is better suited as a coordinator. I havent been this happy since Chan Gailey. Phillips is a stopgap, a retread Head coach who brings nothing new to the table. Im really surprised Dallas didnt hire a young coordinator with a fresh outlook

I was worried that Ron Rivera would be hired or even worse. I didnt want to hate Mike Singletary.

Phillips could be gone after one year if the boys dont do well in the playoffs.

"How 'bout dem cowboys?"

When I said I'm out...I mean it...I've officially created Jimbo Rule #1.3, behind women are evil and never gamble with a guy whose first name is a Midwestern city(thanks TeenWolf!):
1.3: I will no longer support a professional franchise for any sport that makes repeated
decisions counter to the prosperity of the team

--section A: "Repeated" will be defined as either 5 incidents or 3 incidents that contain the same elements, i.e: Head Coach Hiring

--section B: "Support" will be defined as wearing of team paraphanelia, active rooting during group gatherings, recording said team via DVR, VCR or any other device, opening a sentence with the line: "I think (Team no longer supported) can have success this year if..."...Section B can be expanded at any moment to include more examples of "Support"

--Section C: Support ban will be lifted when a series of the following occur (ranked in order of importance):
1-Jerry Jones sells the team, and said purchaser is not also the new teams GM
2-T.O. is dismissed, Wade Phillips steps down to DC and Tom Landry rises from the dead to take the helm, and Jerry Jones is convicted of tax evasion and is forced to relinquishes is ownership (this is more probable than scenerio 1)
3-The 2008 NFC Championship game is between either Washington or Dallas for the Super Bowl (this might be the furthest scenerio)

Some potential flaws in Doctrine 1.3:

*but Jimbo haven't you been a passionate supporter of the UW Fball team, who haven't shown a "real" commitment to winning
(this rule doesn't apply to college, since allegiance is defined by a different set of criteria then choice)

*Isn't this just a way of avoiding the ridicule of the upcoming 6-10 season...(basically)

*I feel that you shouldn't be allowed to root for any team with this Doctrine...(you may be right...but at some point as a fan...you are left with no other options than to publically disassociate myself from the team)

Thank you,

Extremely Pissed Former Cowboy Fan

Bavasi is the worst GM in Baseball... but the Nintendo ownership is decent and the team's superstar (Ichiro) is the anti-TO. Of course, Bavasi has pretty much buried the team for 2 more seasons. Will Beltre wake up this year? Or was he clearly a doper in his career year before Baseball "cracked down".

Thats is the reason that Jimbo is they only cowboy Fan I respect. Look at the passion and the yearning for not just a winning team, but a team that you can respect.

Jimbo. Im about two years behind you in my hatred of the owner, but Rule 1.3 is definately on my radar with Dan snyder.
