A Special Train-O-Death Segment: Barbaro 2003-2007

The world lost another champion this morning as Racing Stud Barbaro was euthanized following complications from surgery to fix his ailing foot from the Preakness last summer.

I'll admit that I don't quite understand the appeal of Horse Racing other than the gambling, but Americans have apparently taken this issue hard so I figured I could spend a Monday morning typing up a little memorial. Don't worry America, you'll find another animal to put your hopes and dreams behind.

Unfortunatley my eulogy skills are no where near Train level so I'm just going to leave it be. If your interested in more information, tune into Outside the Lines with Bob Ley today at Noon and tonight sometime after Sportcenter, NFL Live and NBA whatever they call it.

Can you feel it? Man, I can taste the meat ball subs already! Plus, I can't wait to play Star Wars and take you guys' money in poker.

I spoke to Devo yesterday, and he said he's in. But I didn't believe him. So hopefully he'll set aside some time at work from his alleged multiple "special projects" and post his true intentions.

Note to all Lodge members. Discussions of Dead horses and conversations about Meatball Sandwiches are entirely unrelated.

Goose Guarantees only USDA Choice beef is used in his sandwiches and no animals are harmed in the making of the (I think the Sandwich needs a name)

Unless I kick Mosely or Payton while there are in the kitchen

Joe. Discussions were had with the Gander and Gatsby may attend if you would like. The kids would love him and we've got a big yard for him.

I don't think there's ever been any doubt to the hight quality used in The "Nightrain Lane" (that's my recommendation for a nickname based after the hardest hitting CB to ever play the game...and the hardest hitting meatball sub to ever be served on Super Bowl Sunday...

Hmmm The NightTrain.
That does have a nice ring.

The Butkus?
The SiraGOOSEa?

Even though he was a Bronco, how about the Austin William "Goose" Gonsoulin?

Na, that phrase still works

And Joe. Be careful what you say to me this week. You are now on Meatball Sandwich probation that could transfer into a full blown Meatball suspension if you piss me off.

I think we're all in shock that Barbaro is dead. It's like a piece of me is gone, kind of like when Bambi's mom got taken out by that hunter.

How did I get suspended?

He is on Meatball Probation.

Due to his "Wise Up" comment that Goose did not care for.

I dont know about Meatball Probation that just sounds a little strange...

Hey. I can make up Meatball Probation if I choose.

M*A*S*H had Meatball Surgery
Bill Murray had Meatballs the Movie
The tramp rolled a Meatball to Lady.

Goose can put people on Meatball Probation. Why? Because it annoys Joe. And anything that annoys Joe is good.

PS. Gooses Super Bowl Preview post will be tomorrow

If I didn't know that Michele loved Disney so much I would have taken your a$$ to town for a Lady and The Tramp reference.

The last thing I need is to be in the Ganders dawg house... Cause really that is far worse then the Gooses Dawg House

Pic of the Day Comment -

Honestly Gooch made a good move in going to Newcastle. He will get the most playing time. at Chelsea who would play maybe a handful of games and really be a backup for use during injury. He had offers from Marsille and AC Milan. He would never play at Milan and Marsille is about even with the Belgian leauge his already plays in.

He is in the EPL now and in the end he might well become the best American player come 2010. My bet he will captain that team too.

Though odds are currently 2-1 that he gets injured in his first game at St. James.

I agree with your thoughts, Train. Although I would have loved for him to go to the Fulham squad to further cement the "America's EPL Team" label.

And I love that you cursed Gooch with the injury odds. Nice, Train. Nice.
