Dude, get off the Dewback!

Before I head out of the office (because of a 7AM PST meeting the past 2 days thanks to some Amazon employees in Luxembourg), I just wanted to post this pic and thank the A-Team for assembling on Sunday night. Kudos to Jimbo for starting the Lodge & I'm looking forward to SuperBowl Sunday at the Nest. Always worth the trip down to the 253.

your welcome, however I think the Lodge is going to have to re-think your invitations if you jump ship to Trojan land...I'm just saying...something to think about...

Isn't about time we make Joe tell the entire Lodge his reasons for splitting up the Lodge??

I believe 3 paragraphs at least with supporting facts and a bibliography....

The cat is out of the bag....and so it begins

Here is the question. Joes bro Mike will be moving back. Can we just replace him with another Elenbaas? Much like the two Darrens in Bewitched?

Well I had heard that Mr & Mrs DeLong MIGHT be jumping ship....I guess I just didn't know that it was a definite thing now.

I guess I missed out on some serious crap talking on Sunday then?

Looking forward to the Super Bowl party....the new job is SERIOUSLY cutting in on my Lodge time.....

We talked about that also on Sunday...luckily for you the vote was 3-2 to keep you on...I'm not saying which way I voted either...

You are missed on the lodge SeaTown.

Yeah, Joe has mentioned his moving to LA LA Land about as frequently as the Dude posts a comment. Sunday we were able to beat it out of him.

Joe was a founding member and you just don't leave the family... Remember what happened when one of Tony's made men wanted to leave the family...??? I'm just saying family comes first.

I was wondering when the Lodge-hammer might fall and knock me out.

My deepest thanks to the 3 of you that are giving me your vote of confidence. In my defense I would say...I know that I don't get to post much, but I have a solution for that. I do,however, comment all the time and I have been to as many 'gatherings' as possible...with many more to come hopefully. I've even gotten the wife in the mix a couple times....so that's gotta be worth something!

Ah the term "Founding member"...fond memories of the 6am Excite Pal chatroom, Fledgling top5's and the pressure of what to title the room for the day. The birthplace of this commercialized millenium version that we now call home.

We cannot forget the MEAT!!

No one I've ever meet has so defined the Religious Right quite like Meat did...

I like the picture of the day... "No way in hell will I play for the Man"

Jose Mourinho asked about his thoughts on Ajen Robben... " He's Dutch" doesn't that sum it all up...?!

Seatown. You have stepped up when asked and your loyalty to the family has been notced. Maybe a captains promotion when we give Joe the Ralphie treatment

On a side note. MCP and Duke. I have yet to hear if you will be attending the Super Bowl in the 253...
I ask this becuase this weekend is the "Mother of all Grocery Trips" to prepare for the "Mother of all Super Bowl Parties VII"

Make the commitment. This is a Lodge tradition that you need to be a part of. While I wont say its Mandatory there is severe backlash for missing Gooses Annual Football Foodfest

The only additions outside the Lodge with of course be my boy Ryan. I have to bring in my offensive coordinator to break down replays.

No worries CTown...even after you insulted me following a level 5 gut punch game with my Cowboys I still called you a Lodge-mate...so that has to count for something...

and Goose, I wouldn't hold your breath on Duke/MCP...much like Wet Suit and Barbeque from the GI Joe series...they weren't needed in every episode...wow...that was a 2.0 type blow...

Parcells is a HOF coach...even though he's been a slightly better than average coach for his entire tenure with the 'Boys...this guy (Clark Judge) is just trying to stir up the pot and fill space...

His reasons: Flores, Seifert and Cowboy Jimmy all won two Superbowls and Holmgren, Vermeil and Reeves all took two seperate teams to the Big Game...and he doesn't consider any of those coaches to be HOF caliber...

I'd disagree and say that Holmgren and Vermeil are better than average choices to make it...Reeves never won a SB with either team, which doesn't make the situations comparable...Cowboy Jimmy didn't coach long enough, neither did Siefert...and Flores was riding a stacked team built by Raider Al in his heydey...

Big Bill re-built the Giants in the late 80's, same with the Pats in the 90's...and I have a ton more optimism looking at the 'Boys 2007 roster than when he took over with the '03 roster...

I'll admit that I'm not the biggest Bill fan in the world, but I'd be lying if I said he wasn't one the best or top 3 at his job for a set number of years (the very definition of HOF member)...

Jimbo. While i am not a Parcells fan I do agree with you that he will be a HOF coach.

I think Reeves is a HOF when you combine his role as a Player and a coach. While not a record holder in either he made his mark on the NFL.

Flores and Parcells are a tough call when mentioned together. Flores I think doesnt get the respect he should.

Vermiel is a Maybe and Holmgren could be a slam dunk with one more superbowl. Jimmy Johnson is a No.

I think Parcells and Holmgren will be voted in in the next 10 years. Vermiel and Flores may make it on a senior commitee vote.

However none of this matters until Art Monk gets in

My Top 5 G.I. Joe Characters:

1. Firefly: The cammo... the gun. I mean, his filecard says that no one knows what Firefly's real name is or what he looks like. That's friggin sweet.

2. Storm Shadow: Yes, he was a Ninja. And Ninja's are friggin awesome. 30 generations of assassins? Sweet.

3. Snake Eyes: The guy never talked. Great character. Plus, I love that he's trained in "some forms of holistic medicine." Because you never know where you'll be.

4. Beach Head: Jimbo already brought out the not to subtle porn references... and this obvious name aside, Beach Head's figurine looked bad-ass. "He doesn't get angry . . . he gets even."

5. Shipwreck: Jimbo had Shipwreck as his icon at EarthLink back in the day. I pretty much threw him on the list to say that. True story.

Which pops the next obvious random trivia question into my head......how many character NAMES were crossovers between GI Joe & Transformers?

were the hell is MCP for this one?...if he really wants to hold the Lodge Geek Mantle then he needs to earn it...

and on a technicality...because CTown stated "how many" and not "which"...I will say 5...

Wed Jan 24, 04:22:00 PM PST
Blogger seatownshawn said...

Ha....nice specifics Jimbo. I don't think one could be granted any kind of geek status for simply dropping a number though.....gotta have the names.

And it was Joe's comment about Shockwave that made me think of it. That was one of the first Transformers I ever had....with the little cassette tape that turned into a bat.....badass. Would've been more badass if Shockwave could've actually been a real live radio that tranformed from a radio into a radio that looked like a robot. Too much to expect from the 1980's?

Wed Jan 24, 04:31:00 PM PST
Blogger Casey said...

Excuse me, but the MCP has not been participating in this "battle of wits" because the only name to be shared by a Transformer and a GI Joe was Shockwave.
