my MoTown Top 5, looks a little something like this:
5)Polish Wedding...never saw, never going to see it, but it sounds like its a good depiction of Detroit
4)Narc-Patrick/Loitta...overweight and gritty...underrated B-level crime film
3)8 Mile...I know, I know, but you left the theater saying, yeah...up with poor white kids growing up in the ghetto and bustin' guys on stage during rhyme-off
2)Robocop-who knew that this sci-fi version of Detroit in the future would become a documentary years later
1) (tie, since half of these movies took place in Motown, I consider it one full movie)
True Romance/Beverly Hills Cop-ahh the culture shock...T. Scott does a great job of showing the grit and darkness of Clarence's life in downtown Detroit along with white-gansta Drexel (I'm noticing a theme here)...BHC...what kind I say..oh...I know..."...I'm just sitting here doing the neutron dance..."
