Friday Comic Spotlight
Since we sometimes pigeonhole ourselves into writing about mostly sports and movies, today I've decided to spotlight a comic that I've always thought was friggin hilarious and hasn't received his due. Today's Comic is: Zach Galifinakis. A couple of you might remember Zach from his shortlived late-night show called Late World on VH-1 that was cancelled after 1 season or have scene his standup routine. If you have, you'd agree that the dude has some chops and deserves to be mentioned in the same sentences as other great comics of our generation the likes of Hedberg and Cook. But I'll get to those names at a later date.
Zach is a comic best known for uttering Steven Wright-like one-liners while playing the piano. His aformentioned TV show, Late World, had great energy, giving oft-neglected musicians like Starsailor, Rufus Wainwright, and Res a chance to shine and sending Galifianakis out and about, interviewing Ice Cube as he tours South Central, for instance, or asking a bunch of kid actors which movies will win Oscars. So, take a quick gander at one or two of his bits and give the beard some love.
