16 Years and Good to Go

Its been a long time coming but after many efforts and near defeats The Glove man Gary Payton finally gets his ring. You gotta give him props after jumping around the last few years and especially after getting the bad beat hanging out with Kobe in L.A. Its a bit laughauble reading an earlier article about how Shaq practically begged Gary to be on the Heat and was proud they won the Championship, it could be the truth, but I don't know if they really wanted him. Now this old man who used to smoke weed with my old ghetto friends on Rainier South Seattle finally has some sense of accomplishment to call his own.

(Since the Lodge is dead today please accept my humbly polite sports post.)

Still, it seems a lackluster event after having gone through several teams, led a good era of 90's Seattle ball, and been an NBA All-Star several times >> Current 7.7 points per game....

And here's the NBA official foster child history: Drafted in the first round (second overall) of the 1990 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics…traded by the SuperSonics with Desmond Mason to the Milwaukee Bucks for Ray Allen, Kevin Ollie, Ronald Murray and a conditional first-round draft pick on Feb. 20, 2003...signed as a free agent by the L.A. Lakers on July 16, 2003...traded to the Boston Celtics with Rick Fox and a first-round draft choice in exchange for Chris Mihm, Chucky Atkins and Jumaine Jones onAug. 6, 2004...traded to the Atlanta Hawks with Tom Gugliotta, Michael Stewart and a future first-round draft pick in exchange for Antoine Walker on Feb. 24, 2005...waived by the Hawks on Mar. 1, 2005…signed as a free agent by the Boston Celtics on Mar. 4, 2005…signed as a free agent by the Miami HEAT on Sept. 22, 2005.

Your 'Quah friends probably think you've sold out by moving to "the city". Of course, they're probably working down at the DQ.

...a lot of people come to the D.Q... burgers... ice cream... anything, you know? Cokes... just drive in and get a Coke, if you're thirsty.
