Saturday U.S. World Cup Gathering
Saturday is the World Cup match between Italy and the U.S. and I am inviting The Lodge to come watch the game at my place, followed by some time kicking around the soccer ball a block away in the Greenlake grass. We can BBQ some lunch at halftime & see if Goose's half-Italian blood turns on his country. I'll supply the beer & whiskey. Hell, Jayne is even welcome to root on his home country.
USA vs. ITA 
Great article about the U.S. squad's first round loss on Monday by the Onion. Man, they do it right. But seriously, this Saturday's match is a must win game if the Americans want to move on in the tournament. Hopefully Arena will shake up the lineup and maybe Landon Donovan will show up more than just in spirit this time around. It'll be interesting to see if Totti plays after leaving Italy's last match.
