Word of the Day:

BIF: Butt in Front
Thanks ND for proving to the nation that again you have no business in a BCS Bowl game.

I don't know about no business... ND had the game tied at 14 all before LSU's wideouts started exposing the Irish secondary, which in turn gave Russell lanes to run the QB draw the remainder of the game. The SEC is arguably the best football conference in the country, and this game proved it.

Honestly, I thought Charlie Weis was going to throw more trickeration into the second half ND offense and make a game out of it.

Maybe a Hook and Ladder or the Statue of Liberty? Who do we look like, Boise state?

I spent most of the second half keeping the TV cameras from showing my BIF.

I take offense at my name being slandered in such a way for slang english use. I'm going to take this up with the Hill Valley Legal Assocation. If Grampa Mad Dog Tannen was around he'd have you shot and strung up.

Seriously Joe.....stop defending ND. They BLOW. If ND would man up and join a fricking conference they would have been the 3rd or 4th best team at BEST this year....and that does not equal BCS material.

They should start working on a new name now...because right now they should be called Botre Same....and I'm sure that doesn't have the ring to it that they are looking for.....

Hey, I too stopped watching in the 2nd half... quit busting my balls. Oh, and Shawn, you should probably man up and make an appearance at the Lodge for poker after the game. Yes, you'll be sauced. But crap, even my wife wants to play in the game after the game... so you should probably think harder about making an appearance.

I'm going to side with 2.0 on this one, but not for the obvious reasons...

1-LSU is quite possibly the only team that can match up to Ohio State and because of the difficulties of the SEC and scheduling didn't get a chance to get to the SEC Championship game. Check out their 4 biggest games this year:

09.16-@(then #3) Auburn L 7-3
10.07.06-@(then #5) FLA L 23-10
11.04-@(then #8) Tenn W 28-24
11.24.06-@(then #5) Ark W 31-26

So that's 4 games versus top 10 opponents, ALL AWAY FROM HOME. This team without a doubt shares the favorite to win the National Championship (USC) w/ or w/o jaMarcus ...

2-The griping about ND has been going on longer than your grandparents have been alive...bottom line...ND brings fans and ratings...you can not argue with that...when you're talking about trying to grabe a 10-15% ratings share for the final 4 college football games of the year and ND has 2-3 losses, you know they're going to be in the discussion...

I personally like the Irish after some deep soul searching...I'm a personal believer that polarizing teams, (Redskins, Yankees, Lakers, Chelsea) are great for sports and increase my emotional commitment to the game...whether or not their is a more deserving team out there really doesn't matter...look at Tuesday nights Wake Forest/Louisville game...both had "earned" the right to be there...but from an entertainment standpoint neither one had any right to play in the Orange Bowl...we need the ND, Oklahoma's, USC's, Ohio States in college football to give us a barameter to the other schools and basically to root against....

I don't love the BIF - I only hope to contain it.

Joe, the comment was deleted after I miss quoted you. My editor made me pull the comment.

Na, I agree with Jim it is always good to have an enemy in sports. It has nothing to do with Religion

We need our polarizing teams. I have to say I miss the days of NFL dynasties but on the flip side I like NFL parity

and God apparently has shifted teams, which happened shortly after Holtz left...I think he now pulls for Rutgers...and Appalachian State before that....

True. But I think the Big Guy Upstairs has switched to the pro game and is on the NO Saints bandwagon.

I wish that were true, but I think he's just setting them up for the ultimate blue-ball in the SB...
