Lodge Interactive Time: Why I could be the next England Manager...
Since the current search for the next English manager is taking on "One Night in Paris" type excitement. I thought it was time to ask a few questions of my fellow Lodge mates:
Could you guide a squad of overrated and overpaid wanka's? Do you have what it takes to stand up the media scrutiny? How well can you make excuses for underachieving performances?...Do you bleed the colours of your team?
If so...or even not...I want to hear some reasons why you may or may not be up for the job....
Bonus: Please pick one of the following managers who will most likely end up with the job (thanks to Ladbrokes for the lines)
Odds:
*The Special One 7/4
*Fabio Capello 9/4
*Martin O'Neil 6/1
*Harry Redknapp 10/1
*Steve Coppell 12/1
*Luis Felipe Scolari 14/1
*'The' Jurgen Klinsmann 18/1
*Alan Shearer 20/1
*Lawrie Sanchez 250/1

Ummm....wow, I can honestly say Im at a loss on this one?
Cant I do "Why Goose should get the head job at Michigan, or the "Why Goose should be the next D-Coordinator for Tyrone Willingham?"
The Packers/Cowboys game tonight will be good. But I can't be too mad since I have class and will miss the game anyways.
Personally, I wouldn't want the English National Team Manager's job for the sole reason that it's a job where you can't win due to the UK's unrealistic belief that they are better than they truly are. They are a borderline Top-10 national team and believe they are clearly a Top-5. It's crazy.
Yes, the EPL is the best professional football league in the world, but that doesn't translate to the national squads since half of the EPL is made up of foreign players.
And I don't think The Special One wants the job, but rather that he's playing that job off against professional clubs that he's more interested in.
I'd lean towards Capello since I've read that he wants the job and he has a good history.
Goose, you should answer the question: "Who should be the next head coach at UW, Jim Mora Jr. or Mother Goose?"
I'm saving that topic of discussion for next week when Lappano makes it official that he's leaving and Baer is fired...
but I'd like to turn this over to Goose and ask him what he thinks needs to happen over at Montlake?
2.0...I agree that England is around the 10-ish area right now...but with even semi-decent coaching and philosophy they could be a top 5 nation easily...but the demands of the EPL/Champs League push too many injuries...my personal desire is for the Special One...I need him back in my life...
Should 'arry Redknapp's odds be a bit lower after his arrest in the "corruption" investigation?
no...I don't think that dis-qualifies him from competition...in fact it proves he's willing to go all the way for his squad....
