No seriously the Seahawks won a playoff game in Miami…Seriously? Yeah, I think.

I am going to do it man. I really am. I just can’t keep my mouth shut on this. Granted I am very nervous about this game and don’t think I will sleep a wink the night before cause when you are a fan during the playoffs you take you it to 11.

This Saturday is the proverbial gold mine for sports viewing. My head might explode. The Hawks are trying to erase 30 years of futility going up against a ramped up defense that if they can’t get you down the conventional way they will try tackling you with spit. I wonder why we never tried to teach this when we were at Newport.

The Bronco’s are going to attempt a post season win for the first time since the magnificent seven left. Oh yeah and they get to play the defending champs and literally are being given no chance to win. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I hate to break it to a lot of people but the Broncos are a good team. I can give you all the numbers about there defense and how the snake is not making mistakes. How the team has had 4 wins in games decided by 3 or less. How they are undefeated at home. I can tell you how they are built to beat the Pats with there run game. But that isn’t going to do much until the whistle is blown after the fourth quarter in Denver this Sunday. The game is going to be tough and physical. I can’t wait to see this one. A recent poll taken by the Denver post shows about 50% of the pop in Denver see the Co’s winning by 3 points or less. Telling me to be ready for some ribbing come Monday. All great things come to an end. Hopefully it can happen this weekend.

To bad the Redskins aren’t playing the Bears because we might have seen two teams with a chance to win a game with negative yardage on offense. I can’t even imagine that and nor could the football gods. I literally only see a Steve Smith 80 yard touchdown pass winning this game 7-0, but I got to root for the bears in this one. How can you not root for a coach named Lovie? There is just something about a game at Soldier Field it just brims with NFL history. I am hoping Dick Butkis and Ray Crockett are on the sidelines with their “Return to Glory Season 2” hats on.

Does anyone in the lodge see the Colts losing? With the way the Steelers are playing this might be possible but they only win if they can play keep away from Payton and I am not sure he will need that much time with the ball considering the way the Bengal’s were going up top on the Steelers well until Palmer tore his MCL, PCL, ACL, TLC, APB and ASAP. Just listening to the medical report you would think his leg was actually severed at the knee. John Kitna just found a job for next season.

I still say no matter what happens this weekend we all meet up for the conference championship games next Sunday. Hopefully our teams will be there cause it might be a weekend to remember but lets get through this one first.

I'm all for it next weekend...but this one, might be better spent alone(at least I'm going to Ocean Shores...so I guess I'm just speaking for myself)...but how 'bout Train...ready to defend himself against the Pat Machine...he knew after seeing Trojan Palmer hauled off that the Pats were rolling into town...

and how about that game yesterday?...Jonny K. coming in as the hero from Ellensburg only to have the floor pulled from under him during the 2nd half...running around like Donovan F. in the Chunky commercial with Moms calling the play...what I especially like is when DB's start arguing with LB's after they both got their jock's handed to them on trick play after trick play that shouldn't work in week 18...

The Cincy/Pitt was the classic...old skool trumps new skool 9 out of 10...Cincy might get there soon...but, as of now they have a ways to go...although I still don't think they have what it takes to get Indy next week...I'd like to think that the Colts will be on a Vision Quest following the events of the last month...and that's Peyton with an "E"..."can you sign this loaf of bread for my little brother...he loves you"

and thanks to the Giants and Jags for playing...you'll be replaced by two teams next year that don't deserve to be there...

decent opening weekend...but, let's hope for some classics...preferably ending in a Bronco/Seahawk SB...were I'll be forced to make my own Bronco Buster 2.0 shirt, and send some old 'Dome Turf to Detroit to rekindle the spirits of the Hawk Curtain led by a Mr. Jacob Green, today's Seahawks legends of the game...and you know what Mr. Green was found of hearing back in the day....

"...Elway drops back and is sacked at the 15 and the Bronco's will have to punt...giving the Seahawks another FIRST DOWN!!!"

Alright...I know you think the Bronco's are great...and I sort of respect that, so I'm going to break down why they're going to lose...and I'm even going to try to do it without actually making fun of Jake Plummer (which is going to be as difficult as one of those bud-light challenges)

1. The last face off between these two teams had Denver up 28-6 after 3 quarters. But then the wheels came off and the Bronco's had to hold on for dear life, barely squeaking out a 28-21 win.

2. Brady is 10-0 in the post season. That number is INSANE!!! On top of that, in those 10 games, he's only thrown 3 interceptions

3. Jake Plummer may be playing well so far, but lets not forget how bad he was last year (Throwing balls underhanded, or into triple coverage).

4. Patriot defense is hot right now. Don't let their Team stats fool you. They had a rough time in the first half of the season which skews their defensive numbers. However, if you look over the past few games, they've shown flashes of their past brilliance.

5. Jake Plummer is a douche.

I like the passion that Jayne is giving to the sports scene. Kind of like when Han tried to use Luke's lightsaber on that Tauntan. He was all over the place but effective.

And just as an addendum...

As much as I fear and respect the Colts, they're not invincible. If there are two teams that I honestly think can beat them, it's the Patriots and the Seahawks.

And that's not just the Homer in me routing for my Home team.

Really, it's like an episode of Star Trek...

The Colts are like the Borg, right? They go from game to game destroying team after team, making the rest of the league fear their cold, merciless vengence.

But here comes Matt Hasselbeck (ie Jean-Luc Picard...it's a bald thing) busting out ready to whoop some ass. And he's brought friends. He's got Mr. Symphony of Destruction himself Shaun Alexander (Worf...the Klingon guy) and the ultra sleek Joe Jeruvicuis (Data).

And yeah, the Borg/Colts may look scary, but these are the Seahawks we're talking about. They're gonna drop the Colts like 3rd Period French. They're gonna bust up the Super-bowl like a high school kegger.

Here's the reason the Co's actually have a chance against the defending champion Patriots this next weekend: The Pats aren't very good. Yes, Brady is a stud and maybe the best clutch performer of our generation.

But New England went 4-1 to close out the year (Not a bad stat, Jayne, or is it...), against teams that were a combined 33-47 for the season. They didn't play good teams. I love how people think beating JAX this past weekend was an accomplishment, even though JAX had the weakest schedule in the NFL this year besides Indy & Leftwich wasn't 100%. I'm not saying that the Patriots time as a dynasty is done, but the injuries they've sustained this year cannot be overcome, even by an immortal Tom Brady.

Serioulsy, I can’t honestly say anything to you guys that will convince you guys the Broncos are going to win this one so really why bother? I know you can run on the Pats and Denver is the best at that. Denver has the defense to stop the Pats in the Red Zone. They are playing at home which I believe gives them the final edge in this one. If it were any other year, I would be giving the Broncos no chance but the Pats are not the same team.

I think you're overlooking the fact that Jake Plummer is a douche. Does your assesment take that into account? Because I think that could be a difference maker.

Dont underestimate the Billy B Game Plan. If anything Plummer can be rattled if you can pressure him.

There are a stack of good QB's left in the wake of the NE Defense. (Even minus Ty Law)

Man Kitna looked horrible in the second half. Notice his inabilty to find the open man.

Nothing has been funnier today than the Jake Plummer= Feminine Hygine Product comparison. Too funny.

If Jake Plummer is a douche than I guess that would make Brunell a turd sandwich?

(I can't believe I just said that about a Dawg...I might have my creditials revoked)

If Brunell is a Turd sandwich...what does that make Billy joe Hobart?

Billy Joe Hobert is a slice of pizza with anchovies... he could have been and sometimes was tasty, but pretty much stinks when you get down to it.

That said, both Brunell and Hobert committeed the Dawgs greatest season ever, so Hoberts NFL stankiness and lack of brains (subsequent NCAA sanctions added to by Hobert's allegations) are forgiven.

Do we realize that Hobart had like a 10 years NFL carrer carrying a clip board mixed in with a few starts.

I can't wait for when he is remembered during the 3rd quarter of a up coming Husky game.

oddly enough I watched a classic BYU football game on the BYU channel it was 1985 or something they were playing the Dawgs. then after that they had the classic BYU v. San Diego State barn burner.. Detmer vs. Faulk. What a game.

I think the real question is:

Who would win in a fight. Chuck Norris' Beard or Jake Plummer's?

Experience vs Youth
Well Groomed vs Shaggy

I have to say...as Palmer went down, as did any chance of a Bengal win. Old school finds a way most of the time. So if that poses true, the Pats (old school) should be Denver (newer school)

This Denver game should be interesting. I think if NE gets off to a good start, it could be trouble for the Cos but if Cos dominate early, the Patty's could be out of minutemen.

Skins - Hawks, an interesting matchup that finds two different teams then the last time they faced each other. Brunell comes back to Seattle. Home teams this past weekend were 1-3...I hope this trend doesn't continue because if it does it could be either Seattle or Chicago out of a chance to play for the NFC title.

I just want to say "where were the G-man?" The Giants must of hit the snooze button because they didn't even show up for their first round game. It was quite the let down. I was expecting a good game and Carolina took them out of it.

I'm just enjoying the double meaning with your "team-swappin' broncos fans" title. When I first read it I didn't think it actually had to do with football.
