Lodge in the Wilderness

I have a question for my fellow lodge mates.

Does anyone like to camp? Tents, Bonfires, Ass Flask with Schnapps, Trees, Useless conversation about nothing around the campfire? (Like in Stand by Me)

Im think of Organizing a Lodge Camping trip. Maybe a day or 2 one weekend late in July when the Weather is warmer. Cost of the trip is pretty low. We can each provide one meal. Im sure if we pool all of our resources we probably have some tents and gear.

Takers?

Well I'm always up for a camping trip....but this is probably going to sound a little lame....I've only got a couple weekends that are even close to being an option, so I'll have to check-in on the calendar and then throw those dates out for everyone to contemplate. We are officially at the 10 week wedding threshold, so things are ramping up a bit.

That being said.....are we still on for some bowling tonight at 8 pm, West Seattle Bowl?

Funny, I just watched Stand By Me during vacation. I was really struck by how eloquent the kids were at 12 years old. I guess Steven Spielberg went to a great grammar school.

Camping is cool; all depends on the time and fishing ability.

not sure on the head count tonight...but, I'd be down for a couple of frames tonight...and as far as camping goes, I'd be down if the location isn't too far and enough whiskey was present...

I am tired from flight. but camping:

Leavenworth area has Icicle Creek, nice place, fly fishing too.

Columbia River is getting into swing with the Shad run coming through, good strong fighting fish.

Ocean Shores is always a hoot for some body boarding and shore fishing for perch.

I can swing by the Lanes when I get off work at 8pm.

I am calling on the Lodge to ask a favor. I will be moving the weekend of June 25. I was hoping to get some Lodge help. I am taking the jump and moving in with my girlfriend. The move intails a drive up to Lynnwood and pack up a moving truck then back to West Seattle to move into the new apartment. We will fill your bellies after the move and if you need anything else we can hopefully accomidate.

Let me know if you can help me out her. I would really appriciate it.

I think the duke is right on track with the Columbia River. Ocean shores doesnt feel much like camping.

and Jimmy. Is there ever a lodge gathering that does not have Whiskey, or at least another beverage of amber hue?

I'll be at the lanes tonight...showing everyone how to properly bowl a perfect 92 game

let's plan on meeting at the Lanes a little after 8pm then...I think we have the Fantastic Four tonight: Goose, Train, CTown & Myself...anyone else is welcome and when I say anyone I'm really talking to Dude, who's maintaining his title as "Weaksauce Champion '06"

Goose, do you even know the meaning of the word pals?

MCP. I could berate and chastise you for asking that question. I will refrain. Instead I will let my lodgemates answer. The true measure of a PAL is how the members of his posse view him.

yeah...Goose...that is a good question, do you know the true meaning of PALS?...wait...yeah, you do...it's called showing up at a Lodge gathering for one, and for two, bringing ass-kicking food also, (serious bonus points in my book)...and for three, it's hanging out at a dive-Pizza joint 'till 1am watching a sport he cares nothing about...yeah...he's moving on to the 2nd round of the PALS tourney...

I think it is safe to say that Goose wrote the PALS handbook. he puts the rest of the Lodge to shame in this category.

I hope the Goose can make it to another World Cup gathering this time around?

Actually Goose is planning to bring his laptop to the World cup Office day that is being planned.

And Devin, it wasn't really Spielberg who went to Grammar School... it was another Steven... Steven King who wrote the book that Stand By Me was adapted from.

And I'm going to throw this bold statement out there now. Steven King is the greatest living writer, period... in the last 40 years.

Well, I would say he is the greatest horror writer of all time...

You would... while ignoring the fact that he wrote this movie, plus the pantheon Lodge movie of Shawshank Redemption. You can't deny the greatness, Train.
