Movie Event of the Summer

I haven't been this excited about a movie since Ratner ruined X-Men 3 for me this past year. Talladega Nights figures to be the funniest flick to come out this year and should live up to the hype for once (although I still haven't seen Superman Returns, so it could be the 2nd movie to live up to the hype train). I think the best thing about it is that Will Ferrell is basically doing his George Bush impression and fitting it to a NASCAR character. Brilliant. I found these clips from The Ballad of Ricky Bobby to tide you over until 2 weeks from now:
And I had to include this pic I found of Howie Long checking out Brittney Spears at a 2003 race at Talladega Speedway. Nothing like getting caught on camera. Tom Cruise, save me with your witchcraft!

I can't friggin' WAIT to see this movie. Unfortunately....Melissa and I will be at a Bloc Party concert in Berkeley, CA on opening night :-) ....so we'll have to catch it when we get back.

Yes, and I'll be in Whistler. But I did some digging and found out that it's opening in Canada on August 4th also, so I'll be hitting the Cineplex in Canadia that weekend, that's for doggone sure.
