Lodge vs. Poohbah

60 minutes of football on Saturday Night to determine the future and legacy of the 2006 NFL Season for the Boys and Hawks. Can either team play consistently for an entire 60 minutes? 45 minutes? Will either secondary keep Romo-beast and Baldie under 300 yards? Will CTown get a chance to raise the 12th man? What kind of tips is the Tuba-man going to pull down?

Well the Madden Cruiser and the NBC crew will be here to document the end and extension of one of these teams. Who will hoist the Battle of the Lodge Trophy?

For those not enjoying the friendly confines of the Kingd..err...Qwest Field, please feel free to stop by the physical manifestation of the Lodge in West Seattle. Kickoff is 1700PST, following the game, 2.0 will look forward to stealing some money through his dirty dutch-boy tricks, so be prepared to at least talk sh*t.

Did I miss anything? yeah....HOW 'BOUT 'DEM COWBOYS!!!

Very nice. I'm looking forward to the night's activities. I'm going to the Huskies Men's Basketball game vs. Arizona State at 5PM, but am planning on heading over to the Lodge immediately afterwards.

Jenny & her friend Paula (big Razorbacks fan from Arkansas) wanted to join us for the poker game. Shawn's wife Melissa also expressed interest. Is that allowed? Devin also called me about bringing his "date" over for some hold 'em too. So we might have a co-ed game brewing. What do you think, Jimbo? I mean, Train will be there already, so we can't really say that girls aren't allowed.

ooh dig...I don't want another civil war today....I don't care who shows up, but the Lodge does have a max capacity so it could get a little cramped and seating may be limited...and if someone cuts one it may linger...these are all possibilities...

Clarification.....

Qwest Field = Seahawks Stadium

That's our story and we're stickin' to it.....we do not "recognize" the $40M name change....

for the next 36 hours it's the most overrated stadium and fanbase in the NFL...that's all...

I'll keep that in mind every time there's a false start penalty.

Ouch Joe, you cut me deep so deep you hit my woman parts.. So, Joe who is your team in this years NFL playoffs? Obviously it's not the hawks since you won't even be watching the game... You know Baltimore is back in the playoffs this year.... See that dig was as lame as yours

I am headed to the game with MCP so I will meet up for some Dutch boy shenanigans afterwards...

Ctown...the feeling is mutual...and regardless of the outcome of the game I just want to see Roy Williams completely blow up J-Steve...and I know quietly or not...every CHawks fan feels the same...and I also feel the same way about TO and the Hammer...

I would actually enjoy seeing TO get stifled by the rookie more....that would be effin' SWEET.

I know he'll get his catches though....but I anticipate at least one wide open 60 yard DROP by TO though.

I just LOVE the PLAYOFFS BABY!!!!

Okay, I'll tell the ladies it's on. Always good have better scenery at the table.

Oh, and Train... I was given these Husky tickets as a birthday gift, so I'm not turning them down. Plus, the Bball game will end by 7PM and give me time to catch most of the 2nd half. Bring your money, biatch... for poker, and your checkbook for the computer.

I still have an incomplete computer. You bring the speakers you promised and we will exchange money...

Got your VM... sounds good. I'll try and get the speakers by tomorrow. Gabe has them, so I'll have to swing by his place and pick them up before poker.

No Worries Joe. You will have your money. Debts between friends can be tricky. Unless it's a life debt then you become Chewie and Han...

So it sounds like

Dude Seatown Train and MCP will be at the game, Joe will be watching basketball until at least the 4th quarter.

Jimbo should I wear my #48 Steven Davis Redskin Jersey or my #56 Lavar Arrington Jersey? Both fill the anti cowboy role

Fri Jan 05, 12:10:00 PM PST
Blogger Jimbo said...

Stephen Davis please...and it looks like the Redskin and Cowboy watch the game together unless Soup wants to stop by...

I do owe you for Bringing a Troy Aikman Jersey into my Nest, but I will respect the lodge and probably wear something Seahawks to show Neutrality.

Umm... Goose, need I remind you that he wore the #8 in front of the gosslings. A Redskin jersey is fully reasonable.

same here...but the #8 I'll be wearing is a member of the National Football League Hall of Fame

Fri Jan 05, 01:44:00 PM PST
Blogger seatownshawn said...

Yes Jimbo...I know that. Did I say anything derogatory about your #8?

I always wonder what I might be like if I had some world championships to fall back on when my team was on a run of mediocrity....but it seems that my team is on a neverending run of mediocrity. I would like to think that I wouldn't need to point simple things out like that to my friends.....but it seems like everytime you say something positive about the Mariners, Seahawks or Sonics....there's some Yankees, Dodgers, Cowboys, Bulls, etc....fans to remind you of what you already know just by the fact that you have followed sports for your entire life....

I can't wait until the Seahawks finally win a Super Bowl so I can shoot down all the Cardinals fans I know with the obligatory "oh yeah, well how many Super Bowls have YOU won? ...that's what I thought....come back and talk to me when you can win a Super Bowl."

....wait a second....I don't know any Cardinals fans......

Goose, not sure if you caught this. But the SG linked in a three-part series in the Washington Post that dissects the Redskins season.

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3

wow Ctown? did I hit a nerve? I always assumed that your natural optimism would put you above the normal Seattle-landscape...and for the record...I didn't mention anything about any Super Bowl...I merely commented that one of my favorite players of all-time was a member of the Canton Country Club...

For the last decade I've been made to endure a horrible NFL franchise that never seemed to get all the right parts together and run by one of the most despicable men in the world...and for the past 3 years I've seen approximately 7 wins out of 34 games from my favorite team period. So don't tag me with a non-descript "arrogant bandwagoner" label. You're better than that baby, you're better than that.

So here's a more relevant trash talk...my 9-7 team is going to beat your 9-7 team in a game filled with equal number good and bad plays

Fri Jan 05, 02:34:00 PM PST
Blogger seatownshawn said...

You hit a little teeny nerve...but don't worry, I'm still an optimist.

I was talking to somebody today that was wondering if this could be the first ever breach in the space/time continuum that would somehow allow both teams to lose....pretty funny actually.

This may be one of those games that whoever has the ball last wins....combined with whoever turns the ball over the LEAST....because both teams will undoubtedly turn the ball over. The +/- on the game is somewhere around 50....

Prediction so it is official

Dallas 33 Seattle 31

I hope I am wrong. I will be rooting for the Hawks. I just think the defense is too depleted.

Ouch. Goose picking the Evil Empire... amazing. Look forward to seeing ya'll tonight at the Lodge. Well, except Casey because he's the eternal no-show. If he doesn't show, I nominate that Casey's new nickname is "Pillow Pants" the remainder of the year as penalty.
