Goodell lays the hammer down!!!
Adam "Pacman" Jones of Tennessee was suspended Tuesday for the 2007 NFL season and Chris Henry of Cincinnati received an eight-game suspension -- both for numerous violations of the NFL's personal conduct policy.
Goodell wrote: "Your conduct has brought embarrassment and ridicule upon yourself, your club, and the NFL, and has damaged the reputation of players throughout the league. You have put in jeopardy an otherwise promising NFL career, and have risked both your own safety and the safety of others through your off-field actions. In each of these respects, you have engaged in conduct detrimental to the NFL and failed to live up to the standards expected of NFL players. Taken as a whole, this conduct warrants significant sanction."
Good for the new commish. I think this sets a good precedent and should start to clean up the sometimes "Cowboy Mentallity" of NFL Players. Props to the commish in his 1st real big decision in his new job.
"I must emphasize to you that this is your last opportunity to salvage your NFL career," Goodell wrote to the players. "I urge you to take full advantage of the resources available to support you in that effort."

You might recall that I totally called the 8 gamer. Yes, it sets a never before seen precedent. But that's the point. PacMan is an example of what not to do.
My favorite thing I read about it the past few days was this quote by Mr. Jones:
"I have made horrible decisions about who I am with or who I am going places with ... Two of my friends who had never driven a Bentley, I let them drive my Bentley one night just because. Not just to show them the upside, but I never had anyone do that for me. It's always the little things that get me in trouble."
-- Pacman Jones to Deion Sanders on the NFL Network.
It's unfortunate because he does have one of the best nickname's in the NFL...
I think this is further example of how the NFL Players Union is the weakest of the big three...interesting to see if anything comes down on J-Steve...
I don't know if kicking him out for a year is a good thing. It might just give him the biggest excuse yet to F-up.
10-1 Odds he is dead by Super Bowl Sunday... Sad but true...I hope the kid get some help.
You cant suspend him if no one signs him :)
