Fantasy Football 2.0

Goose has continued his 10 year streak of attempting to get me to coach this coming Fall. So you know what that means? Yep, Football season is around the corner. This will be the second year The Black Lodge will take our games to the World Wide Web, as Train will attempt to defend his title.

ID#: 132736
Name: The Black Lodge 2.0
Password: ass
URL: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/blacklodge
Draft: Offline Draft
Scoring: Head-to-Head

I've sent email invites to everyone that had email addresses listed in last years league. Same settings as last year, except one change... I've limited the playoff berths to only 4 teams. This way, we won't have any bottom-feeders upsetting teams in the playoffs due to a great matchup week.

We will discuss the best draft time at the links Tuesday night. I'm thinking a weekday night the last week of August. Thursday, August 30th looks like a strong candidate, with the season openers of College Football that evening. Everybody put their votes in the Comments here online if you have a day of the week preference. Casey, don't forget to formulate your kicker list before the draft.

Training Camp starts August 14th and runs 5 nights a week for 3 weeks. Im out for a live draft unless you do after 9pm or on a weekend. I prefer a weekend

We could do a weekend. But it more than likely would have to be Saturday, August 18th for me...

How does the 18th look for everyone?

So weeknights are completely out then? If that's the case....we are going to be hard pressed to find a Friday, Saturday or Sunday when all of us are going to be around.

Ideally....I think that the draft should occur on or about the 3rd week of the preseason schedule. That way, you've gotten the one or two blockbuster injuries out of the way and we've got a little more data to go on......which guys are looking a little too fat....which guys are fast....and what kickers are the most accurate!

3rd weekend of preseason action is the weekend of August 24th - 26th......can we do a late night on a weeknight? How long will the draft take if we meet at 9 pm? ...what time was it last year?

Jeff, you couldn't make it out after a practice on a weekday the week of Sunday August 19th through Friday August 24th? That seems to be the Lodge favorite for a draft date.

For those of us who are true football whores, Wedding days are planned in April to avoid any Fall football conflicts (Never even missing the late april Draft)

I can do a late night draft if needed on a weekday, I just would rather not
