Sports Crimes: Benoit

We could be talking about this guy. Except, too bad he's a chump now. Also, the O.J story is filling up way too much media time as of late that could be better used for coverage of more serious things like Britney, TomKat, or the situation with our enemy: Canada.

I prefer today to focus on a bottled explosion from a man known as Chris Benoit. With his diary now surfacing and details of the event from the murder/suicide becoming much more complicated and dramatic than a botched mid-life crisis heist. Chris revealed heartbreak as a friend is recalled in earnest regard: Eddie Guerrero. From a mind torn through body slams, and neural damage from the clothes lines. All this brought to you by the King-man himself and Sanjay EFFIN' Gupta. The story of a maple leaf gone astray in the wind.

Its a much more explicit loss than than high school cleats you sold but miss dearly.

Duke, do you follow wrestling, still?

Also... the OJ story is headline news down here in LA. Holy crap... first news story out of the gate on the evening news, front page in the newspaper. Crazy.

I have a question...If OJ owes the Goldmans 33.5mill, hows the hell does he post $125,000 bail?

Both "stories" are ones that I want to avoid altogether. ESPN pretty much ruined every steroids-related story for me after cramming Barry Bonds down my throat for 5+ years with Pedro Gomez's microphone.

Oh yes, in other sports controversy, the Lodge may have to put in their vote to stigmatize the ball.

Duke...do you need to be reminded that celebrity couple nicknames are not to be used in The Lodge?

...well...you just were I guess.

sincere apologies, couples abbreviations = bad.

and joe, new evidence suggests benoit actions are not steroid related. if gupta says so, it has to be true.

When you are in trouble, you will call on number 7!

Couple of thoughts from the Devils match today:

1) The Arsenal match v. Seville was 18 times more entertaining (it was on Setana). The Dutch came up huge in both matches... but Van Persie just has a knack for being in the right place at the right time.

Van der Sar was huge for ManU... I have a new nickname for him: "Groot Kat". Dutch for "Big Kat". Nice, eh?

2) I hate to say it... but Giggs is not looking 34 years young.

Look, I agree that there is something to be said about playing your experienced guys who don't make as many mistakes as the young talent. But Giggs and possibly Scholes are both on their last legs. They just don't have the pace to be much of a threat offensively anymore versus the top flight European clubs. Anderson and Hargreaves will start next year for United.

Dammit....you get Setanta down in SoCal? Shite.....sounded like a good match with the 2nd half pretty much dominated by Arsenal.

How can I get some CL love with Comcast?

Groot Kat it is...I like it...it's not like ESPN asked me what match needed to be on...I would've voted for the Sevilla match also, however I could've had the best of both worlds and kicked the Barca/Lyon game off of the 2pm Classic spot...but my god man...have you seen the attacking four for Barca?

Henry...Deco...Messi...Jar Jar...

too bad they still have Spider-Hair for a coach (give me the Dutch translation for that)

That's ridiculous...that's what that is...

and 2.0 I tend to agree with you on Giggsy...I think the heavy minutes last year finally broke him...it will be interesting to see the rotation coming up with Nani showing his strength on the side...it was a classic European grinder...you take your three points on the road regardless of who you are playing...
