Gooses Take : The New FB....Fred McCrary

I know, 25 carries for 31yds in his career wont raise any eyebrows or get you to pick him up on your Lodge Fantasy team, but lets get the low down on the Seahawks replacement for Mack Strong, Fred McCrary

Full Name: Freddy Demetrius McCrary
Born: September 19, 1972
Naples, FL
Height: 6-0
Weight: 247 lbs.
Age: 35
Pos: RB
Experience: 11 years
College: Mississippi State

Pro Highlights: Led Chargers in special Teams tackles twice, played in a West Coast offense on Ray Rhodes Eagles team in 1995. Caught a career best 37 passes in 2000.

Gooses Take

So obviously this is a stop gap signing. Leanord Weaver is obviously the new FB. But McCrary is a solid player. FB's in the West coast need to do two things, block and catch passes. Can he learn the Blocking Schemes and the pass routes quickly? If so he might add some value. Dont forget as a lead blocker, his job is simply to put a helmet on the defender, its up to the RB behind him to read the block and make a cut. He may also add some value on the special teams...FB's make great wedge busters on Kickoff Returns

I like the pick up. It's obviously another one of Ruskell's guys that he trusts...and that program hasn't bitten us in the ass quite yet...so you've gotta feel good about it.

We also replaced our long snapper with another Falcons guy. Interestingly enough, the guy we cut (Derek Rackley) also used to be with the Falcons....until he lost his job there to Boone Stutz...the 2nd newest Seahawk.

I wonder what it feels like to lose your job to the same guy TWICE!

Another interesting note is that Stutz has such velocity on his snaps that they actually had to have Plackemeyer practice with the guy to make sure he could handle the heat before they actually signed him.

I liked your free agent pickup with Campbell yesterday Seatown. (dangit) I'm upset I didn't choose him over Schaub the past weekend. He was on my weekly FA Gamble trade list.

Ruskell can do no wrong in Seatown's eyes.

And look at Devo, upset about fantasy football. Next year he'll be at the draft with 8 fantasy football magazines & a jersey on.

I've googled my charts the last the two years. Next year I will search Ask Jeeves, "Which QBs won't get hurt this year Jeeves?"

I will be wearing a jersey this weekend at Qwest watching N.O. v Sea.

something is very wrong....we have had 3 Lodge members in Vegas within the last week and no post....this is the downfall of a once proud Lodge

We should have stories and Swingers quotes. Tales of debauchery and woe.

Sad...very sad. I blame Hollywood 2.0

I appreciate what Ruskell stands for....but he can "do wrong"....he just hasn't quite yet.

Sorry about the Campbell pickup....both of my QB's have a bye in week 8....so I needed to cover my arse.....

joe, coaches don't use a pen? Depth Charts are always in flux. Therefore he would most likley have a pencil v. pen.

sorry for the lack of post Goose...Poohbah has been promoted to the Varsity team at the software company and is trying to get his head around a 5x jump in email...lame, I know, but the facts...

Here's a quick rundown:

1-just off the strip and right down from Bill's "Home of the 14.95 Prime Rib Dinner" you'll find the best dinner deal in Vegas, $2.75 for a Polish and Miller Lite...served from a...hmmmhmmm...very lucious lady in tight leather...

2-Bally's sports book is second to none, especially when sitting next to a die-hard USC fan and watching The Cardinal bust up a 35 home winning streak...oh yeah...buckets of Miller Lite...notice a theme?

3-Poohbah busted into the ranks of the $3 dollar BJ tables with red-number results, but enough cocktails to justify an excellent time and excitement about the next trip

4-Robbie Delong has a hot girlfriend (Amy Winehouse w/o the crack problem)...or at least it looked that way from a cell phone at 145am after 13 hours of drinking

5-McLaren Airport on Sunday afternoon=a new layer of Hell I haven't even thought of yet...

Sorry I didn't give this quotes or photos...but there you go...and I also blame Hollywood 2.0...I'm out here trying to put bread on the table and all he has to do is watch random movies, which may or may not have to do with God

Of course, Jimbo blames me. I'll give a rundown on my experience in a bit. Mabye I'll write a post during my class tonight. We will see...
