MLB Predictions
Now that we've tackled the Mariners situation. Below are my predictions for the year for the remaining MLB standings. I like Minnesota much better than the Sox this year in the Central (while CLE doesn't have the pitching to hang, I see the Indians sliding back a few games), but when I look at the Sox, they're better than last year. That doesn't make sense, but either did the Sox winning it all last year... with apologies to the Dude. I'd love to hear the rest of the Lodge's thoughts on the upcoming season.
AL EAST: Boston
AL CENT: Chicago Sox
AL WEST: LA Angels
WILDCARD: NY Yankees
ALDS Winners: Boston & NY Yankees
ALCS Winner: Boston
NL EAST: NY Mets
NL CENT: St. Louis
NL WEST: San Francisco
WILDCARD: Atlanta
NLDS Winners: NY Mets & San Francisco
NLCS Winner: NY Mets
World Series Winner: Boston
The Mets now have the bullpen and lineup to finally take down the Braves. Philly's pitching is horendous, and Houston can't win without the Rocket. Plus, the Cubs missed their window on Prior & Wood's shoulders. Bonds will carry SF to win the NL West while the Cards will win the Central again. I can't see anybody beating the Mets in a series with that lineup and Pedro (although if Pedro goes down, they're in trouble... I know, big IF!). But Boston has the big guns to do it with Schilling now pitching off of 2 ankles and Beckett & their still deadly lineup. Best lineup in the league when it counts. The Yankees may score more than Boston this year, but not when it counts.
Oh, and here's a quick shoutout to the big guy. Last week we had the Chewy iPod case. This week we move into Goose's arena with a cell phone case:

3 Comments:
part of my problem with MLB is the length of the season...with other sports you can have a bad month, usually the first...and still get to the championship...MLB you can have 3-4 bad months, and if you're in the right division make the f'n WS...anyway...just my daily bitch about baseball...
Here's my weak-ass prediction:
Sox/Yanks: neither one...while Baltimore slides into the only playoff spot for the AL East...
AL Central: Sox got it riding...only improved their bats, didn't lose any of the pitching and D that won them the series...hard to go against a proven winner...Twinkies will get in the playoffs, like they do every year
AL West: Anaheim-Oakland-Seattle-Texas...they'll play 162 games...and lose in the ALDS in 5 games
NL East: Braves until Cox retires...I don't know why anyone would pick against them?...I know it doesn't make sense...doesn't matter, they'll still win the AL East...and how come no one bets on this in Vegas...about as regular as you can get in the sports world
NL Central: Brew Krewe...no comment
NL West: Return of Dodger-blue baby!!!
2.0...I think you've finally pissed off everyone...excellent work
No, I think eveyone is still on a Seahawks high... I would perdict the baseball talk to heat up mid June.
