Papajohns.com has a bowl game named after it?!?!?
Okay gang, I need your help.
So I entered a pool for the upcoming bowl games. The problem is I know two things about most of these games: Jack and Sh!t. And Jack just left town.
Anyway, here's what I'm thinking (Actually, this was Trains idea): I'm going to turn my picks into the lodge's picks. I'll list a few bowl games at a time, and have the lodge submit their picks. Which ever team gets the most votes will be the team I pick.
Here's where you benefit...if I win I'll put 100% of the winnings towards a beer fund for a Lodge event (and I may even throw in a 6 pack of Zima for Joe). I'm thinking maybe we should have a little poker tournament, or hell I could even show up to actually watch a game with you guys.
Train won this pool last year and walked away with a couple hundered bucks so it's not exactly chump change.
So here are the first three games to vote on:
San Diego County Poinsettia Bowl - Dec 19, 8PM
TCU vs N Illinois
Pioneer Pure Vision Las Vegas Bowl - Dec 21, 8 PM
BYU vs Oregon
R&L Carries New Orleans Bowl - Dec 22, 8 PM
Rice vs Troy
I'll post the next three games later today....

What the hell? A guy makes a post and the whole freaking lodge goes crashing down!
Do we get some point spreads on these? .....makes it a bit more interesting....
we're launching an internal investigation into the crashing of the Lodge...those caught and convicted will be made to sit through the entire Firefly series...unless it's MCP then it will be the entire Rob Zombie Collection including that one scene from the Beavis and Butthead Movie...
MY ALIBI: watched ManU game w/Joe at lunch.
Sorry Seatown, there are no point spreads in this pool. You just choose winners & losers of the 32 bowl games.
Train's done this before so I'll have him explain the point system.
No need to break down the points.....I just needed to know if we needed straight up winners/losers.....the "spread" can make a BIG difference sometimes.....
Oh...and I was out on the grassy knoll during the alleged "crash".....what are you talking about?
The Lodge was not loading for a while, it had one hyperlink and black background. Our system of tubes got damaged for about an hour.
WINNERS:
TCU
OREGON
RICE
Here's how the pool breaks down -
32 bowl games
you have 32 points to assign a bowl game and a winner.
IE:
Ohio St - 32 points Winner
vs.
Florida
BYU - 31 points Winner
vs.
Oregon
and so on....
If your team wins you get the points and the highest point total at the end of the bowl season wins you the kitty...
and nothing brings the joy like having your own kitty...even if it means you root for a team that beat your team 550-3 in two games last season...money changes everything...
sadly it does change everything...
Thank you VY
RICE,OREGON AND TCU
I like the Lodge participation, Casey...
Oh, and feel free to add a few different pics to this post too, MCP. Papa Johns pic would work... or just a picture of chicks and a football work too.
As far as the games, I'd take TCU, BYU (only b/c I can't vote for the Ducks, ever.) and RICE.
Yeah, I meant to post picks, but Blogspot was throwing a fit. Of course the fact that the whole site went down right after I submitted it kind of explains that.
KAHNNN!!!...IT WAS YOU!!!...I'm setting up the theater now...Clockwork Orange Style...starting with House of 1K Corpses...and lots of eye-drops...
It's all for you damian!
It's all for you damian!
Blogspot = Blogsuckssometimes
if I could secure some space I have a program that could take the Lodge to the next level...perhaps that will be my new year's resolution
So I still need picks from Jimbo, Seatown & Goose.
The post for the next batch of games will have to wait till tomorrow.
should we consider moving onto the new Blogger system? beta.blogger.com
we take it to
www.waltsblacklodge.COM
COM = $$$
So lets break this down
Rice- Won 7 of last 8 games. Quality wins over Army, Tulsa and SMU
Troy hasnt beaten anyone except for small schools
Take RICE
BYU looks tough. Oregon has stuggled since beating Oklahoma
Take BYU
Northern Illinois has been inconsistant. If you shut down Garrett Wolfe, you shut down their team. He is a talent.
I like a team with solid running game. But TCU Looks tough.
Take TCU (But im on the fence on this one)
I like RICE, BYU and TCU as well.....but wasn't it Northern Illinois that kicked the crap out of Cal a few years ago?
Nevermind.....it was Texas Tech. No idea how I got those two schools mixed up....
I'm going to agree with goose and ctown on this one...nice breakdown Goose...even throwing out Northern Illinois playmaker...
Train didnt give the lodge JACK SQUAT out of his winnings last year.
