Appier reassigned

Sad news on the Joe camp. Kevin Appier has been reassigned to Tacoma. Along with Appier, Gregg Dobbs was also reassigned. See the list of people that have made the 40 man roster here.

Opening day is three days away. One other note, if the Raineirs game is rained out at Cheney Stadium, they will open up Safeco to the general public to watch the game and admission will be free.

really no surprises with the cuts...and I'd bet the bank that we'll see Appier on the mound at some point in this season(Sele-syndrom?)...I like that the Italian that came from the Japanese leagues made the bench and is the #1 L-handed Pinch hitter now...Baseball!...what a game...

Thought i would throw this out to the Lodge.

i was thinking about seeing V tonight but seeing that it is a friday and most have wives/girlfriends or have seen it already everyone might want to pass but if you do let me know.

Nobody in the Lodge but me. We picked up 2 of Mike and I's high school friends that live in Seattle & Chicago to fill the empty league owner spots.

V was great. I saw it with Jenny at Cinerama last weekend.

Good to know you got it all filled. i just couldn't see doing baseball anymore. The season is too long.

I guess I will just go see it by myself sometime. Whoa is me....

That's right. We watched on the last night before the remodeling.

Hey, Dude? What Rainiers game? You didn't mention a date.

Actually it's not closed during the remodel. In fact they're premiering the 2006 Seattle Arab & Iranian Film Festival tonight.

Yeah...AMC does their theater listings wierd. They'll list it in the paper as closed for SIFF, the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and the Jewish International Film Festivals as well.

I think Paul Allen needs to drop AMC as his Vendor for Cinerama. I think it would do much better business with someone like Landmark or even if it went independent.

There's two very important things I don't think Cinerama does.

1. Rotates films enough. Take last year for instance...they kept Star Wars for most of the summer, skipping the chance at playing flicks like Batman. The held onto Narnia until just 2 weeks ago. They should be rotating as many big films through as possible. Even if it means only a two week run of a film.

2. This theater should be jumping all over midnight film runs. The theater can handle 70MM as well as the normal 35MM + it can convert the screen to handle Cinerama films (Although it takes 3 hours to convert). This theater should be bringing in midnight showings of stuff like "Aliens" "Evil Dead 2" "Raiders of the Lost Ark" "Donnie Darko" etc. The Egyptian already does something similar, but to do it at Cinerama would bring in a lot more people.
Cinerama briefly did this after the remodel (The did Blade Runner and Lawrence of Arabia) but shortly after Episode 1 came out they changed management and the way they handled special runs of films have been sparse at best.

You are right about Cinerama, MCP. They do keep the movies in rotation for way too long. You would think they'd get more constant attendance if they'd switch up quicker.

The midnight film idea is good too. I can't believe I'm fully agreeing with you (although I think we probably agree on more than we'll both admit to, and I'll probably like Serenity when I see it finally too... even though you don't like Dune, although I attribute that to you never reading the Dune books.). I think you might have found your calling, MCP. Managing the Cinerama.

A little heartfelt moment in the MCP/2.0 war of 2005-2006.

A long cry from yesterday when FBombs were dropping faster than Trains pants at an Adult film convention
