Because Train Demanded It....

So Train found out I had this on Youtube.com and insisted I post in immediately....

X-Men: Execution Trailer

In a nutshell this is a preview to a fan film I shot a year and a half ago. I shot it for a contest and, for a variety of reasons, never finished it. I got as far as cutting it and color correcting it, but I never finished the sound and there are still 3 pick up shots that I need to shoot. Anyway, about a week ago I started working on it again to finally finish it. Since there's nowhere to really submit it anymore I was just going to float it out on the internet. So, this is the original preview I put together as I was assembling the rought cut of the short.

It's geeky, kinda cheesy and ultra low budget. And yes...that's my real hair.

Oh yeah...it's all me. It gave me an all new repect for action scenes. You see a guy fall in a movie, and you think it's not so bad. But what you forget is that when they shot it they had to film it a dozen times. So by the end of it you're bruised to hell.

No Key Grips...he called in sick. There was just a makeup person, myself, a camera man, and the other 2 leads.

Props to the real hair. You gotta love Wolverine. No grips... MCP is a man of the people.

Can the MCP bring it?

I think he can...

Any chance the Lodge might get cast as extra's?

Can I play Gambit?

Actually, at one point we came up with the idea of turnining it into a web site containting series of serialzed shorts with various cross-overs.

For instance this short is with Wolverine, Rogue and Jason. The next one would have picked up with Rogue immediately following the end of this short continuing along and eventually crossing over with something else (The two scripts I had were for either Buffy-esque Vampires or Ash)

I can feel the excitement coming from Train with the thought of being able to playing Storm

I can see Train playing a Jubilee-type character... lame powers, but talks a lot and is occasionally funny.

I can already see Goose's review of "XXX-Men" starring Train:

"At least it was better than Serenity"

Joe, nice pics from your trip to Minnesota ... and I'm glad you gave props to the urinal trough. I've never seen those anywhere else.

And let's get this record straight ... my fantasy baseball record has not been stellar because of a history of not thinking things through and making short-sighted trades. This year, I'm near the basement but I also did not show up for the draft. So you get what you pay for.

But my football performance has been consistently better than most of you clowns. I was in the Super Bowl last season, in case you forgot.

Vote Quimby.

Umm... okay, Soup. Whatever you say. You finished 5-8 in 11th place in 2004, one year before last year's improbable playoff run. Ya, I looked it up.

And Soup, I'm a little bit perturbed that you are not willing to give the backstory on Poison Pill-gate 2006. Use fake names or something, for crap's sake.

I don't know which is sadder the fact that Joe can look up past years for fantasy sports with the click of a button or the fact we won't get the inside story of Poison Pill....

who do I have talk to to get an advance copy of XXX-men?...and MCP will you be re-releasing a special "Lodge Edition" of the Execution-Trailer complete with collective commentary from the group and deleted scenes?

It's funny you mention that, because I was planning on putting together a DVD of the film eventually as a thank you gift to all the people that helped me on it. I've already made the blooper reel and a couple other special features. And I wanted to do a few commentary tracks (One with just me, one with the rest of the cast, etc) and I actually like the idea of a group of random people contributing a commentary track...
....a lodge commentary could be quite funny.

I'd love to do a Lodge commentary & do my best MST-3000 impression throughout. I smell a Lodge gathering...
