The Madden Curse

In case you were wondering about the history...

While I appreciate the historical trend.....I am so not down with talking about this at all.....let's just please call it 'double secret probation' or something and move on....OK?

Leave it to peeps in Seatown to find a reason to hate.....there is something in the water....but it must be from a different reservoir than the one I drink from in View Ridge, because that one serves up some Seatown love 24 frickin' 7. A week before the draft...3 MONTHS before training camp and we have another reason to think that we won't be any good next year. We might as well just pack it in then. Can we start training for 2007 yet since this year is a write-off? Dammit man....first time for everything, and it will never happen if you don't BELIEVE that it CAN.

Sorry for the late night rant...I just drove home listening to a bunch of sports radio idiots talking about how Hargrove needs to take the ball away from Easy Eddie....another example of how quick people are to throw you down the friggin' stairs around here......damn, maybe I need to re-locate......

PUT DOWN THE KEYBOARD...w/o going into the epic post that one day will be written about the Seattle Sport-Scene, CTown, I believe the damaged pysche of the city and state as a collective being speak for peoples quick reaction to speak out...the Madden Curse? real? hard to argue that all six players on that list had a better year afterward...as someone who looks at trends and the odds against them, that's fairly consistent...the problem I have is that every Madden cover should include a Super Bowl winner from the previous year...

Remember this line...we are skeptical, because we don't know what winning looks like or how to do it or a better one you couldn't hit water if you fell out of a boat (the proper description for Eddie G.)

sorry, that should read... hard to argue that all the players on that list had a worse year afterwards I'm still asleep technically

I'll never write the epic post you referred to....so don't worry. I had a rough evening of dealing with negative people....so I come home, check the lodge before going to bed and see another BIG negative.

I'll keep it real myself and I'll stop being negative. I realized that my last couple posts have been huge rants about Seattle sports.....and that's not what The Lodge is about......so I pledge to turn it around.....it's all happy-fun-time for me now boys. It goes up and down.....and AROUND.

It's kind of screwy, I guess my conundrum is that in my quest to be optimistic and positive (which I always am), I come across as being negative to those that I feel are acting in a pessimistic fashion......hmmmm...

Shawn, I see nothing wrong with your rants. I can't remember if you are WA native? But anyone who hhas invested that much sports passion on one city has a right to go off now and again. Hell, it is only natural. So I for one aplod your passion for the city of Seattle.

Whether I believe in the Curse or not, I just thought everyone would like to see the history of the Curse.

I will only believe in the Curse when Shaun comes back this season as Gozer the Traveler.

During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor!

Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!

Slow day in the lodge

Hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone at home?
Come on, now,
I hear you're feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again.
Relax.
I'll need some information first.
Just the basic facts.
Can you show me where it hurts?

Madden Curse? Maybe. The Hawks aren't going to miss the playoffs and I'm not afraid to say that at all. Plus, Shaun Alexander is protected by God Almighty, so much that Shaun will name his first born son is going to be named either Paul, John or Peter, guaranteed, or just solidify it by going Latino and calling him Jesus.

By the way, I'm throwing this out there:

I'm getting Seahawks Season Tickets again... and I want to know the details on the packages and how The Dude & Shawon's groups go about buying them together. Has that happened already? Can I get in? Since The Dude is MIA almost all of the time, I'm expecting an answer from Shawon first. GO!

Nice! Glad to see you getting back in the mix with Hawks tickets....it's about time. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if you'll be able to get in on some group action yet....My contact info is at home for my ticket rep....so I could try and figure out if the seat next to or near ours is available. I think the Seahawks said they had something like 17,000 new season ticket orders by the end of the season last year.....so it's getting crazy. My seats aren't the greatest, but I'm not up too high and I'm under cover...which is really, really nice....

Where does the Dude sit? ....I'll start checking things out in the next couple days and see if we can't get something figured out. Dammit Joe....couldn't you go all in with this decision about 2 months ago when we had to confirm our seats?

Bandwagon? Umm... really it's called "income" to be honest with ya'll. Now that I'm working on the World Wide Web again, I can afford season tickets again. Funny how that works.
