Found some great Twin Peaks commercials on Youtube from Japan. TP is like Survivor/Lost/CSI al rolled into one over there. Georgia Coffee. Its DAMN FINE!!!
I'll leave the trivia to the pro's...but, WOW those commercials were awesome...what?...we just connected long lost lovers by bringing her back from the Black Lodge?...TIME FOR SOME DAMN FINE GEORGIA COFFEE!!!
And what book killed your interest in Literature? Because I haven't seen you "read" anything that didn't have titties or comic-book heroes since I've known you.
“When a Tralfamadorian sees a corpse, all he thinks is that the dead person is in a bad condition in that particular moment, but that the same person is just fine in plenty of other moments. Now, when I myself hear that somebody is dead, I simply shrug and say what the Tralfamadorians say about dead people, which is ‘So it goes’.”
At risk of seeming anal retentive, here's my understanding of the Twin Peaks Pilot.
Twin Peaks was originally concieved of as a pilot. So Lynch-man shot the two hour thing, thinking maybe it'd get picked up as a series. But they got approval to shoot additional scenes so they could wrap it up and sell it 'stand-alone' in Europe. And it was released in Europe before ABC agreed to air it the next year.
The series did get picked up, they filmed seven more US episodes and incorporated some of the European pilot footage into a couple of them.
So there are two versions of the 'pilot' out there : the one originally aired on ABC with loose ends, and the one made for Europe with about 20 more minutes of footage which kinda sorta wraps everything up in an unsatisfying manner.
But right now, it's damn near impossible to find the pilot as originally shown because of rights issues. AFAIK, you can't buy it in the US on DVD -- the version available for sale is the European one. The only way I've seen it as it was aired is back on Bravo reruns years and years ago. Apparently the new DirecTV Channel "Chiller" is broadcasting TP. My bad luck, I'm a cable man.

Yowzers. I haven't seen those commercials in 15 years.
God Bless YouTube.
I knew a little Peaks would bring Mr Money out of his slumber
Twin Peaks question:
Some ladies here are work are trying to tell me that the Twin Peaks 2 hours pilot was the same as the first two episodes of the series.
I contend that the 2 hours movie was just that a movie. It was ultimatly connected but not considered the actual TV series "pilot"
Can the TP fans settle this for me.

Here is the scoop.
The movie Fire Walk with me was a prequal to the series.
The pilot was a tv show.
In Europe Lynch took the 1st two episodes and made it into a movie. He had an ending that was an extension of Coopers dream.
So the answer is yes to both.
Thank you for the clarification.
I had remembered watching a 2 hour Twin Peaks 'movie' on ABC. Which I didn't realize was the TV pilot.
I remember my mom saying " That's the best damn TV show I've ever seen"
was she drinking Georgia Coffee at the same time?
PS :
There will be a nice Train of Death for Kurt...
Slaughter House five was THE book that got me interested in Lit.
