T-birds/Giants Preview!
Some of the Lodge is gathering at the soon to be vacant Key Arena for Game 4 of the Western Conference Semi-finals.
Now last night, the T-birds took one on the chin. Giving up a goal in the first 14 seconds of the game and then allowing two scores in a 18 second span in the second period. So they it would have been great if they were up 2-1 in the series but that isn't the case.
Key Players on the ice tonight
Scorers
First for the Vancouver Giants. They are led by LW Kenndal McArdle; he has got 11 points so far (5 goals, 6 assists). McArdle had a goal, three assists and was +5 last night in the blowout win. Definately one guy to guard tonight. The second guy on the right is RW Spencer Machacek. He's got 9 points (5 goals, 4 assists). He had a goal, 3 assists last night and was +4. These guys appear to be the leaders of this squad.
For the Seattle Thunderbirds, they look to these two guys. On the left is C Brett Robertson. He has 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists). Last night he had a goal and was -4. C Aaron Gagnon (on the right) has 8 points in the playoffs (6 goals, 2 assists). Last night Gagnon had an assist and was -2.
Goalies
Finally, you have the men between the pipes. This series features the two top goalies in the WHL. For Vancouver, you have Tyson Sexsmith. He is 5-1-1, one shutout, allows 2.04 goals per game, and saves .899 percent of the shots he faces. For Seattle, they have Derek Yeomans. He is 5-3-1, one shutout, allows 2.27 goals per game, and stops .921 percent of the shots.
It's lookin' like it should be a good game tonight. Also I want to give a shout out to the Canucks who start their chase for the cup tonight. Hopefully we'll see you all out at the Key tonight! Go Birds! First puck is dropped at 7:05 tonight!
