Sunny Day + Friday + Summer = Golf
So last week I had Lunch with 2.0 and brough up yet another probable "Failure" of an Idea. But because I am glutton for a punishment I though I would share it, get everyones hopes up, then watch the idea die a horrible death.
The 1st annual Black Lodge Golf Tournament
So here is where the idea starts:
8 Lodge Memebers 2 foursomes. Since there are varying skills (Or none at all but thats ok) we divide up the teams based upon skill level. Seatown is obviously the ringer of the group.
We make it a Best ball Tournament. Rules are as Follows:
All Golf Equipment can/will be shared so that no one has to rent/buy clubs
18 holes
18 holes in the Foursome:
I'm thinking of getting this set up for a friday or saturday towards the end of may (Fridays would be a little cheaper if we could take a day off). giving everyone some time to warm up. We would need all 8 members to make this an official tournament.
Everyone can contribute, regardless of skill level. I would like everyone to rank their skill level from 1-10. One having never picked up a club, or 10, play regularly enough to know your handicap and skill. I rank myself about a 4.5. Very inconsistant but can occasionally can come up with a shot that looks like I know what I am doing.
Thoughts? Feedback? Ideas?

18 holes
- Each member of the team will tee off, and the best shot of four will be used
- The other members of the team will then pick their ball up and play from the spot of the best shot by their partner. This will continue until the ball is holed.
Since some Golfers are better than others we will incorporate the following rules
18 holes in the Foursome:
- Every Foursome must use a minimum of 3 and a Maximum of 5 drives per player.
- Every player must have at least one contributing shot every 3 holes. (Marked on scorecard)

Goose, I loved the idea when you ran it by me last week at lunch... and I love it now. Especially if we can mask my baseball-golf-swing that slices every time with a format that helps everyone.
They key is getting Duke and MCP on board. Im pretty sure all the West Seattle boys are in and Seatown is the Lodge Ringer who wont miss a Golf opportunity
FYI. This is post 998. please reserve post 1000 for Jimbo
I'm in. I can probably be pretty flexible for a Friday outing....but I need advance notice. Saturday would work WAY easier.
....not sure I like the "maximum" of 5 drives for one player though....and maybe 2 drives per player instead of 3? I'm not suggesting this to play down anyone's ability....but EVERYONE will have a better experience the more we play from the fairway.
....If we potentially have 9 drives that are in the sticks that we have to use......that won't be as enjoyable.
Just thinking out loud....
I'm open for Rules Adjustments. This was the original idea to get everyone involved for Drives, Fairways and Putting.
What about the one beer every other hole requirement?
I am all in... Though a Saturday would work best for me.
OKAY... i'm going to go out on a limb and I will attempt to golf. just let me know when and I will check my calendar - likely clear. Hopefully, if my week goes good we can make this a Lodge celebration on my "possible" promotion too.
I'm in...going to have to be late May (26th?)...and beer rules will have to apply...
Hey, any plans for CL for tues and Wed?
Any plans for Draft viewing party?
Well, since Jimbo will be on another continenet, we nominated your place for a viewing party for the Draft this Saturday. Goose, myself and Dude are in (Shawn, what about you?) so far... Train, what time should we show up? What do we need to bring?
So do we have MCP for the Tournament?
Will this be the full group of 8?
My schedule in May is a little loco, but if it's a day I'm available, I'll be there.
Champions League tomorrow and Wednesday...7-730 approx. let me know who's in...congrats to the Canucklehead's for pulling out game seven...
Jim is still in town?
I'd be up for watching tomorrow night...
Oh...and check out the 'Bigger Dance' standings update....

Sweet. I'm in for the match also. Can we start it at 8PM since there's only 1 match? If not, no worries. Tell Cash that Little G is coming for him!
8pm works for me...I'll be ready to rock if anyone wants to pre-funk around 630 or 7...
I'll be there a little before 8pm.
I'll be there about 7 pm for some pre-funk action.....the wife is in Mexico this week, undoubtedly pre-funking herself to death....
