The Alec Guiness Memorial Golf Tournament

Please join us for the second leg of the Lodge "Triple Crown of Golf"

Im thinking West Seattle since we only got to play 9 the last time
I believe August 4th was the pre arranged time. Say we have a 10am Tee time?

Same rules as last time. I think Team Chewbacca may want a remach after the 1 stroke loss at the Bruno Kirby Memorial, unless you want to switch up teams

Twilight Golf

So Joe was supposed to make a post Monday. Its now almost Friday and he still has his thumb up his you know what.

Who is up for Twilight Golf Tuesday? West Seattle? Say about 6pm?
This would not be considered a "Major" like the Bruno Kirby or Alec Guiness Memorial. We can call this the Dodge Charger Classic.

The 1st Annual Lodge Golf Tournament

Set your calenders and polish off the rust. We are hitting the links
Saturday June 9th
Location.
We have some choices. and Im still working on this.
One option that is interesting if you want to play a nice course, Washington National is $49 with Cart after 4:30pm on Saturdays. Home of the Huskies? If not I'll find a a course and set up a 1pm or so tee time
Teams
I'm thinking the initial grouping of teams is as follows but is up for discussion

Team "Chewbacca" Goose, Jimbo, Joe, and Devo
Team "Bruno Kirby" Dude, Seatown, Train, and MCP

(Im not sure of Dude skill level)

18 holes Best Ball

Each member of the team will tee off, and the best shot of four will be used
The other members of the team will then pick their ball up and play from the spot of the best shot by their partner. This will continue until the ball is holed.
Rules can be discussed as per how many shots by each person must be used.

Let me know if this works for everyone and i will set the tee time

Sunny Day + Friday + Summer = Golf

So last week I had Lunch with 2.0 and brough up yet another probable "Failure" of an Idea. But because I am glutton for a punishment I though I would share it, get everyones hopes up, then watch the idea die a horrible death.

The 1st annual Black Lodge Golf Tournament

So here is where the idea starts:

8 Lodge Memebers 2 foursomes. Since there are varying skills (Or none at all but thats ok) we divide up the teams based upon skill level. Seatown is obviously the ringer of the group.

We make it a Best ball Tournament. Rules are as Follows:

All Golf Equipment can/will be shared so that no one has to rent/buy clubs

18 holes
  • Each member of the team will tee off, and the best shot of four will be used
  • The other members of the team will then pick their ball up and play from the spot of the best shot by their partner. This will continue until the ball is holed.

Since some Golfers are better than others we will incorporate the following rules

18 holes in the Foursome:
  • Every Foursome must use a minimum of 3 and a Maximum of 5 drives per player.

  • Every player must have at least one contributing shot every 3 holes. (Marked on scorecard)

I'm thinking of getting this set up for a friday or saturday towards the end of may (Fridays would be a little cheaper if we could take a day off). giving everyone some time to warm up. We would need all 8 members to make this an official tournament.

Everyone can contribute, regardless of skill level. I would like everyone to rank their skill level from 1-10. One having never picked up a club, or 10, play regularly enough to know your handicap and skill. I rank myself about a 4.5. Very inconsistant but can occasionally can come up with a shot that looks like I know what I am doing.

Thoughts? Feedback? Ideas?
