Laying a foundation
Guys. I know I have said this before, but I am putting it on the table again. I want Lodge road trip to Sin city. I want to begin planning it so that we dont keep saying, "We'll get around to it". Im thinking 1st week of June. Any takers?
I am calling an official Lodge declaration. This declaration is simply titled, "Vegas Baby". Starting today I will pledge a Vegas post every week until our trip is booked. I will open the Nest again for Blackjack Lessons. I will buy the 1st round of drinks while in Vegas. I will guarantee that Train will not forget his ID at any point of the trip, so that we will NEVER be denied access anywhere!!! I will singlehandedly lead this declaration that we will be in Vegas in the next 90 days and we will have a weekend that we will NEVER forget!!!
Train- Its over Goose we are not going to Vegas
Goose- Over? Did you say Over? nothing is over until we decide it is!. Was it over when Dale Cooper and the chick from Saved by the bell starred in Showgirls, possibly the worst Vegas movie of all time? HELL NO! And it aint over now.
Joe- Showgirls?
Jimbo- Forget it he's rolling
Goose: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...
[thinks hard]
Goose: the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!
[runs out, alone; then returns]
Goose: What the (F-BOMB) happened to the Lodge I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Goose, we might get in trouble with our women....we dont have enough money." Well just kiss my a$$ from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Luxor! Im taking your money!!! Tropicana, Bankrupt! MGM!...
Joe: Cha Ching! Goose is right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take Vegas. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture, involving Caucasians or other mixed drinks, be done on somebody's part.
The Dude: We're just the guys to do it.
Train: Let's do it...

I'd love to go... but the 1st week of June I'm going to be in California. And the 3rd and 4th weekends in June I have weddings to attend... as well as Memorial Day weekend. So basically my schedule and budget are shot for that month.
July looks good though! I love the idea and am down with the idea, I just can't do June. MOTHER F'N VEGAS! Great idea.
We're getting the band back together!
how about the weekend of July 13th through the 16th? its after the 4th.
Prelim checks of hotels are running
$450 Airfare plus 2 nights hotel (Sahara or Stratosphere)
$600-650 Airfare plus 2 nights hotel (Luxor, Mirage, Treasure Island)
What do we all think?
Damn.....I hate to say it...but I am totally out unfortunately. I am getting married in August, so my $$ is extremely tight these days as far as the expendable side goes. Dammit!
When is there gonna be a lodge "gathering" that I can attend soon?

Now, here's my take, I would like to see this done during the football season for a number of reasons...I'm going to need to plan well in-advance...and I need to get my picks on...McCaughnhey-style...these are the fall weekends I'd be willing to go: 09.29-09.31, 10.06-10.08, 10.20-10.22 or 11.03-11.05...
CTown, I believe we're on for a gathering this week if you're interested...and you let us know school boy...we usually plan on Thursday's during the week...unless there's a special event...`

The best bet for me making the trip to sin city is Sept 18-24th.

Well, I dont have the same schedule as Jimbo this fall. A full season of UW wasn't in the budget this year.
Bottom line is this, Sept is best for me no matter what weekend. I think I can swing something that month.

well...it sounds like we're going to have to bring this up at a Lodge gathering after some drinking and birate all those that are making a tidal wave of excuses (mostly myself)...

I only have class on Wednesday nights this quarter....but I have softball on Thursday nights. BUT, if my game is at 6 pm....it's over by about 7....so I could be a late arrival on a Thursday night.

Jeff "Goose" Serling has been released from all contractual obligations and is available to join any Whiffle ball team as a Free agent. He has played out his previous contract in Bellevue and is looking for a westside team to sign with a "Hometown Discount"
According to his Agent Phil Condom, he is looking for a 1 year contract with an optional second year.

Well, my party is just part of the Lodge bonus package... Kinda like the MLB extra innings for the first week of the season.
it's only bonus if we see the "Lovato"...and I think we we're all planning on perhaps playing some cards, let me know if we're still interested, the Lodge is in remodel phase II and not really ready to go...
and CTown...yes I play in an Adult Whiffle Ball league, yes we measure the base paths, yes there are rules, yes we've almost fought out there, yes we are going to keep stats this year and most importantly, yes I am perfectly ok with this
