Train of Death: Rirchard Jeni
Born: 1957, Brooklyn, New York
Comedy specials: "Richard Jeni: Boy from New York City" (1990); "Richard Jeni: Crazy from the Heat" (1992); "Richard Jeni: Platypus Man" (1992); "Richard Jeni: A Good Catholic Boy" (1997); "Richard Jeni: A Big Steaming Pile of Me" (2005)
The train of death comes into the station for Richard Jeni(The white guy). Jeni was found with a gunshot wound to the head over the weekend. He later died at the hospital.
I personally thought Jeri was a very talented comic. I used to watch his Showtime and HBO special in the early '90s. He and the likes of Dennis Miller and Kevin Pollack were all the rage back in those days. Jeni had the smart a$$ Brooklyn attitude that just told it like it was no sugar coating needed here. He had a nice run of small parts in movies and was a always a featured comic on the tonight show.
Here are some selected jokes:
"My mother never saw the irony of calling me a son of a bitch."
"I think that's how Chicago got started. A bunch of people in New York said, 'Gee, I'm enjoying the crime and the poverty, but it just isn't cold enough. Let's go west.' "

I love the joke about Chicago/NY...that's some sh*t though about my boy...don't forget that Jeni was a HOF Friar's Club Roaster...The World and the Lodge is now a little less funnier...
Is Richard Jeni the new Bruno Kirby for 2007?...hmmm...
According to his family, they were certain that the death was in fact a suicide, and that Jeni had recently been diagnosed with "severe clinical depression coupled with bouts of psychotic paranoia."
Bruno Kirby died of natural causes... while Jeni committed suicide. No less tragic. But I'm not sure I'd want the Lodge to back that act. Bad karma and all.
Dont we all.....
