Lodge Gathering #4

Okay, so it's not #4... in all actuality, the number is probably approaching double digits; and it also depends on the definition since if it's only a majority than the number is probably around 50 or 60 since 4 or more have been gathered quite a bit. But needless-to-say, the lack of participation in Lodge activities is lacking overall. And I'm not going to name names... but one ComiCon fan hasn't been spotted since his ill-fated NFL Fantasy Draft.

The gathering will be the 3rd Will Ferrell movie that the Lodge has seen together, the last of which Goose hooked the Lodge up with sneak preview action to Talladega Nights (thanks to Mother Goose's Nextel Employer's questionable sponsorship of NASCAR). The movie times are listed below for the downtown theaters (which would be preferable for 2.0, since I'll be taking the bus to the movie) showing our feature presentation. Please vote for the showing you'd most like to see. I vote for the 1:25PM show, so we can grab a drink afterwards, ala Rocky Balboa. Although this time, I'm not buying shots.

Mail by Empire or Rebel delivery?

So, in addition to the new R2 mailbox unit the Post Office is not quitting on us and giving all Star Wars heads continued joy with commemorative postage stamps.

There are a series of different stamps from the old school & new school trilogies that are going to be put into circulation. Of course you can vote on your favorite stamps now since USPS is going all out on this one to make serious sticker sales.

Individual stamps feature:
• Darth Vader.
• Yoda.
• Obi-Wan Kenobi.
• Han Solo and Chewbacca.
• Anakin Skywalker fighting Obi-Wan Kenobi.
• Queen Padme Amidala.
• Luke Skywalker.
• Princess Leia Organa with R2-D2.
• Emperor Palpatine.
• Darth Maul.
• Imperial Stormtroopers.
• Boba Fett.
• The Millennium Falcon.
• An X-wing fighter.
• C-3PO.

Really, I see the countermove of the post office to make nostalgic eye-candy while at the same time raising the postage rate to 41cents. I remember the good old days of Republic when Padme kept postage at a steady 22cents...

My new favorite commercial

Train of Death: King of the Dome

His name was Bill Scott. Just an average Kingdome vendor during the late ‘70s, something Bill was not was average on enthusiasm.

Most remember Bill as The Beer Man. Overalls, a Hawks jersey and sometimes a hat were his uniform of choice. He took it upon himself to rally the Kingdome crowds. Working the crowd into frenzy with his booming baritone voice he brought life to that concrete coliseum.

Bill passed away this past Sunday morning of cardiac arrest. Bill was 58 years old.

I had the pleasure of sitting with Bill at a Seahawks game back in 1997. Naturally he was skeptically of me since I was in my Broncos gear. A high school friend of mine actually worked with Bill and the seats belonged to Bill. At first I didn’t realize that Bill was that “Bill”. I was not that knowledgeable of such Seattle sports lore. I became the focal point of fans frustration all thanks to Bill and his chants of Broncos demise. He worked the crowd around us high fiving everyone and started some incoherent intoxicated chants later in the game. Bill was playful in his taunts never provoking me or inciting others to provoke me. Bill was the genuine article. I was in the presence of Seattle Sports Royalty. I bow down to the Beer Man.

**Under the Radar** The Seahawks resign Mr 3rd Down

Seahawks Resign Bobby Engram
KIRKLAND, Wash. (March 23, 2007) -- The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed Bobby Engram to a multiyear contract

Perhaps there is hope in the world...

While scouring the news wire, I came across some of the best news I've heard in a long time...yes...you can officially close the book on "The Joe Theismann Era on Monday Night Football"...and open the book on the talents and skills of former Eagles QB Ron Jaworski, or as people in the "industry" refer to him as: "Jaws"...

"This new lineup will enhance our presentation of 'Monday Night Football,' our most important property," Norby Williamson, ESPN's executive vice president for studio and remote production, said. "Ron has covered the NFL from many different perspectives, and he is totally tied into the issues and trends from around the league."

I'm totally ready to go on record and say that I love this change and for anyone that has every watched PTI segments with Kornheiser and "Jaws", you know that this combination is bound to make those late season blowouts semi-enjoyable....

I commend ESPN for doing the right thing and finally destroying the last remnents of the Sunday Night Football crew including Theismann, Mike Patrick and the other annoying guy, which I've gone on record to state was the worst thing to happen to sports broadcasting since the Joe Buck was born...

This is a good way to start off my week...

Kudos to Korea

With Devo busy riding dirty in his new Black Machine... I'll follow up yesterday's post about the "Most Passionate Drama EveRRRRR!" with Episodes 2 through 4 linked below in the running parody. According to Devo, this is actually a series from MadTV imitating a Korean drama with Korean actors (including That Guy from Fast & Furious and Better Luck Tomorrow).

Attitudes & Feelings:

Soul Source : UK

Sometimes you hear a sound and you don't want to download it. You really want to spend your money and get to the store to buy it the next moment you have. I drove over to Easy Street Records and went searching for Amy Winehouse after hearing the KEXP airplay. Probably the most vibrant voice I've heard since getting spun around by Gnarls Barkley last year. I'm going to say it now: this is definitely one of the my TOP 3 Picks for the 2007.

Easy Street's #2 slot on their sales boxes was empty. Amy Winehouse's new album Back to Black filled that spot. The clerk alarmed me, almost scaring me - that they might be sold out. Luckily, there was one left in the back - the last one.
I was pretty taken back just by the intensity of her tone. You can tell at times she's not even blowing out as hard as she could be. In contrast to Joss Stone she is a powerhouse. Against Alicia Keyes she is an Octagon Fighter, while Keyes remains and keeps her pretty self for the nail salon.

The first track Rehab takes the topic of addiction and spins it on a quirky pop beat, but the remainder of the albums maintains a strong sense of soul and egdy motown feel. The title track Back to Black pulls you into her distraught sense of personality. All at the same time disarming and strong. In contrast to her other album Frank, which seemed a little more jazzy and hopeful; stardom and jade may be taking its toll on her in a more authentic clash than a Britney breakdown. Although she may be falling apart a bit, its in that tear that raw talent breaks convention.

She doesn't beat around the bush with bad lyrics, but takes harsher circumstances and fits them into groovy comfortable horns that lull you into listening more intently to her every breath. Forget Monica and her period songs, lets talk about being a ho and getting drunk and high, sleeping around, then trying to turn yourself around. Yet that voice, that awesome awesome voice still sounds classic.

What makes me happiest to hear in Amy as an artist is the authenticity and soulfulness that comes from instruments, beats, and her outpouring voice. She takes the soul sound to a modern context while at the same time still ringing true to the that 60's sound. Her fall with contempt found laughter when I saw a performance of her DrUnK singing an MJ cover with Charlotte Church. Completely "pissed" for both gals in the U.S. and U.K. sense of the word.
(There is still one copy of Frank at the California Ave Easy Street.)

The New Black Machine

It was with sad tidings that I sold the red machine. The Civic has a good owner now, high school kid who's even decorated it with a buddy Jesus on the dash. I had to move on and after several different cars driven and models reviewed I found a gem to cruise for a few years.

I was a little disappointed that Train was skipping work today. I wanted a brother Lodger to be the first to know, and of course optimize the best value on my insurance coverage. I'll just have to settle with what was setup at the hands of some other.

Yes, I purchased a used Mercedes Benz E320 '99. After looking over a Honda SUV, Lexus IS300, and a couple uncertain guys from the Ukraine, I found a valid dealer with a good price. With the help of my friends in the car industry and databases, we confirmed the black machine is legit.

- 221 hp V-6 engine
- 0-60mph in 7.1 seconds
- Bose 8-speaker stereo system

Even I can't accept it yet. (original msrp: $51,300.)

WTF Seattle

I'm going to talk about something that all adults love: PoLiTiCs...

So apparently we love to not make any decisions in Seattle. We love to take things that are smart and good, plan on them, and then not follow through at all. We build things that nobody asks and ignore things that should be asked for. Can we just please tear this motherf****er down!?!

Where's my monorail? Where's my ferry system? Where are the hoverboards!?! Where is the pristine waterfront?

But no, Seattle voters said NO & NO. No means no. Did we get that yet? But that's a double negative and that means null. So voters of Seattle you are all null until we allow our autocrat Mayor Nickels to impose his will on the city like a Tammany Hall man really should.

What dreams may come though lodgers for the future of our city?

Introducing your new Seahawk TE.

Some of you may know the name (only if you drafted him as a fantasy TE)

On Tuesday, the Seahawks addressed their tight end situation by signing 12-year veteran Marcus Pollard, an unrestricted free agent, to a one-year contract. He will team with Will Heller, who is the blocking TE. (Dont be surprised if the Hawks re-sign Ryan Hannum, relased by Dallas a few days ago as a third TE...you heard it here 1st). While not a West coast Offense TE, he did learn the Tom Moore system in Indy. Last year he only had 12 catches for Detroit after having 46 the year before. What was the differance you ask? Mike Martz was the OC. His schemes dont utilize the TE.
This is an interesting signing.
1) The Hawks only signed him to a 1 year contract. Look for them to either draft a TE or be heavy in Free Agency next year
2) He is solid, not flashy. But he can probably get you 30-35 catches, 400yds and 3-4 TD's. Not spectacular but they are better than Stevens career avarages with "potential" He is 6-3 247, solid blocker. And has not been caught driving "Nate Newton Style"
This avoids a long term investment in a big ??? with Stevens. Are you willing to pony up 5 years 30 mill for him? I like the 1 year deal for Pollard. Probably just under 2 mill. This gives them additional cap room for the draft and for the post June 1st cuts.

Train of Death: Rirchard Jeni

Born: 1957, Brooklyn, New York

Comedy specials: "Richard Jeni: Boy from New York City" (1990); "Richard Jeni: Crazy from the Heat" (1992); "Richard Jeni: Platypus Man" (1992); "Richard Jeni: A Good Catholic Boy" (1997); "Richard Jeni: A Big Steaming Pile of Me" (2005)

The train of death comes into the station for Richard Jeni(The white guy). Jeni was found with a gunshot wound to the head over the weekend. He later died at the hospital.

I personally thought Jeri was a very talented comic. I used to watch his Showtime and HBO special in the early '90s. He and the likes of Dennis Miller and Kevin Pollack were all the rage back in those days. Jeni had the smart a$$ Brooklyn attitude that just told it like it was no sugar coating needed here. He had a nice run of small parts in movies and was a always a featured comic on the tonight show.

Here are some selected jokes:

"My mother never saw the irony of calling me a son of a bitch."

"I think that's how Chicago got started. A bunch of people in New York said, 'Gee, I'm enjoying the crime and the poverty, but it just isn't cold enough. Let's go west.' "

Handball

So here's the raddest press conference ever. Jake Plummer poured a glass of water, took a giant gulp and then talked for almost five minutes about how he was officially retiring from the NFL before stepping away from the podium without answering any questions. The former Denver Broncos quarterback was hurrying out of the announcement to play in a handball tournament with his brother. That's right. Handball. Sweet T-shirt too, Snake. The quotes from this press conference are amazing.

"I wanted to come in and tell you guys on camera and face-to-face that the speculation can stop tonight," Plummer said from the Denver Athletic Club. "You can know by the looking in my face and hearing my words that I am retiring from the NFL. At 32 years old, I'm running away from the game. Not in fear or fright, but health-wise. I'm healthy. I'm happy. I have a lot to look forward to in my life."

What do you think Jake "the Snake" did just before this picture? The Broncos traded Plummer to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (the Lodge's team to win it on 75-1 odds in 2007 & I'm still all for this bet, just to clarify) on March 3 for a conditional pick in the 2008 draft. Plummer has three years left on his contract and was due $5.3 million in 2007. Oh, and if you guessed threw an interception, you'd be spot on.

"Life is grand, life is exciting," Plummer said. "I'm excited to move on, and encounter and take on new challenges with my life. ... I'm excited to see my family more, to be spending time with my friends. You guys can probably know that I'll be at a mountain, either at the bottom or the top of a mountain somewhere. Don't worry about Jake, he'll be fine." Umm... sure, Jake. I'd also rather play handball with my brother than earn $5.3 million to sit the pine in the Florida sun.

I Want That One!

THE DRAW
PSV v. Liverpool

Chelsea v. Valencia

Roma v. Man U

AC Milan v. B. Munich

Looks like the fix is in for the Scouse. Or can the Dutchies make them pay? Will Joe buy a PSV jersey now?

Chelsea looks to have the roughest tie but hopefgfully can work some magic at home and have a big enough goal difference heading into the away game.

Man U shouldn't get to comfortable with there draw. The Romans are a team to be feared at home and away. I see Roma winning this.

AC Milan vs. Munich is huge on the continent. A clash between two UEFA powerhouses. This is a game I would love to be at... Well only the German leg.

Semi Final potential Matchups look like this:

Valencia/Chelsea v. PSV/Liverpool

Roma/Man U v. AC Milan/B.Munich

Comic Justice

I know I already did the Captain America post, but I just had to add this. Because it's not news unless it's on the Daily Show or Colbert report...

Last nights WORD: "Comic Justice"

Also...

Just saw the Hawks signed Deon Grant (6 years, 30 Million), making him one of the highest paid safties in the league. I'll be honest and admit that I don't know too much about this guy, but everything I've read this morning sounds quite promissing.

I guess this is goodbye to the Hammer?

Double shot of my Babies love....

MCP pointed this story out to me and I had to notify the Butted ones number 1 fan club.

Looks like Tom Brady has a problem with finding a good contraception manufacturer. Word has it that he has now buried his seed into two supermodels. I don’t know weather to praise the guy or send him a box o’ Trojans. Leo never had this problem.

Dubya versus Lil Zhe

Let the guns continue! The paramilitary police of Brazil are going all out as President Bush goes to Brazil. As always my expectations of gang violence and authoritarian rule in Brasil are not let down as the hotel is surrounded by anti-aircraft guns and a few companies of infantry. George must finally feel the need to hang out next to heavy steel and samba dancers. Doesn't everybody. (pic right: it means BUSH OUT)

Besides that my random perusings of things Brazilian led me to this Lodge favorite and new musical gem: City of God - Remixed

"Dadinho my d**k, my name now is Zé Pequeno, F**K!"

Beyond Bebel Gilberto and Zuco 103, the rise of Brazilian culture cannot be stopped by the prison systems. And this album gives a lot of cool sounds.

Soft Jungle beats open up the sounds with Amor De Verao and some of the tracks give you this foot tapping happy bossa nova sound like Pizzacato Five on Convite Pra Vida. A big surprise was one of the later tracks that has a trippy Daft Punk sound on Vita.

Total lounging can be achieved in the basement or on Ipanema beach, well at least Alki.

"Listen man, I smoke, I snort... I've been begging on the street since I was just a baby."
And the rawness just continued since lo and behold there was another release: City of God Remixed - Volume 2.
Hearing this one felt invigorating like mugging my cousin for some skittles. But its much more of a dance album than lounge album. Some of the tech tracks are a little bit dated, but still good. This was especially noticed with the House style remixed tracks of Convite Para Vida & Hard Galinha.
The big surprise jumped out with the funky tracks like Mad Zoo Sessions. Then the big band horns got thrown down on Ze Pequeno to get your soul moving your feet.
They're fun albums. Downloaders begin your searching and/or buying.

"Ohhhh Whyyyy doooo youoooo givvvve meee the runnnn-arrrrround?"

I believe this story speaks for itself and to the reality that all former early 90's neo-hippies face when trying to go "clean". As hard as you push the Green livestyle, we know you secretly lust for a hopped-upped SUV loaded to the teeth with enough artillery to have yourself a good night in the South Bank.

I think we've finally found our canidate for the fully-armed Green Party Ticket for 2008. I think this might be the first canidate that can align both Red and Blue together and push this country in the right direction, High on BC Kind-Bud with night-vision binocs and a fully loaded Glock. Can we stop killing fictional characters already? Two in a week is a bit much...

I’m a comic book nerd, and I’m totally not afraid to admit it. But I realize that (outside of summer movies) comic books sit kind of on the fringe of pop culture, although this has been slowly changing over the years. Still, when you get up in the morning, turn on CNN and see that they’re talking about Captain America’s death, you can’t help but do a double take.

You may recall, last summer I did a post about a Marvel Comics event called “Civil War”. Well this death comes on the heels of the ending of that event (which I won’t spoil, in the off chance that someone actually wants to read it). Anyway, as you’ll inevitably hear (I’ve already found articles @ the PI, MSNBC & CNN), Cap was assassinated, which I found interesting. He didn’t die in a great fight, or sacrificing himself to save the world. He died at a moment a pure defenselessness. I actually respect doing that.

And really, I have to give Marvel props for doing this event. They set out to do something unique in the landscape of Superhero comics, and they were able to get the attention of the mainstream media in doing so. “Civil War” was covered by everyone from “The Colbert Report” to “The New York Times”. The last time I can recall that happening was when DC killed Superman (for only 3 months, till he came back). In addition, they actually altered the world in which their characters live. This may not sound like a big deal, but typically when “events” happen in comics, things are back to the status quo by the end.

In the course of a year, Marvel has unmasked Spider-man, killed Captain America and created a Marvel Universe that looks much more like the post 9/11 world we live in. It’s hard not to look at something like “Civil War” and not think of things like the Patriot Act or the war on terror.

I’d be lying if I thought they wouldn’t bring Cap back eventually. It’s the way of comic books. I can only hope that they at least make the death stick, for at least a few years. I’m a really big fan of the writer who currently pens “Captain America”, and judging from his past work, I have a feeling he’ll keep the death as permanent as he can.

Alright...done geeking out.

NFL Free Agency...and my 2 cents

Gooses take on the NFL Yearly spending spree.
March is here and while that means college Basketball for most, for John Clayton and Goose, it means NFL Free Agency. Its like Xmas for the NFL. New Players coming and going. Daniels Broiler in Bellevue becomes the place to be in Seattle when wooing Free Agents to join the Hawks.
Also this time of year my buddy Ryan makes his yearly trip to Vegas, where he places my futures bet for the upcoming season.
There is always at top 5 or 10 players that will make the rounds in the NFL. I’ll give you my take on the recent signings.

Lets start with the hawks big prize and then I will break down the Lodges teams
Seahawks

Patrick Kerney. I like the signing. This is a workhorse DE with outstanding physical ability. You may look at his sack production and ask what gives? Well Sacks don’t always make the player. He had 14 in 2004 when Brady Smith was opposite him in ATL. Both had double digit sacks. The next year the Atlanta DL was plagued by injuries and Kerney saw a ton of double teams. I think he is a great piece in a defensive end rotation of Wistrom and Fisher.
Also look closely at the Daniel Graham negotiations. If you guys remember the 2003 Draft. The Hawks wanted Graham at the #22 pick. NE took him at 21 and the Hawks traded down and to Jeremy Stevens at #27. What goes around comes around.

Broncos
I like the Dre Bly trade, giving them two solid CB’s after the death of Williams in the offseason. What Im not to sure of is the Travis Henry. He is ok, but I don’t think he is a top tier 5mill a year RB. I’ll bet they could have traded and got Willis Mgehee. for less. They need a good Vet QB behind Cutler.

Cowboys
So far I think the Cowboys have made the biggest blunder in FA signing Leonard Davis to a 50 million dollar contract. The man has poor footwork and not a bulldozer. Yet you are paying him Walter Jones/Jonathon Ogden $$$. He stunk for Arizona. I could be wrong, but he looks to be the bust of the year. (And the Redskins thought of signing him as well, but for way less) The Brad Johnson signing was solid. Good #2 behind the sure handed Tony Romo.

Redskins
I really liked London Fletcher as a player, especially in 2002-03 when he was in his prime. Yes he is a solid Middle LB who knows Gregg Williams but again they overpaid for an aging veteran. Welcome back Fred Smoot. You “Love Boated” your way out of Minnesota.

Some other big moves in the topsy-turvy (note: 1st ever Lodge use of the term topsy-turvy) world of NFL Free Agency

The Patriots signed LB Adalius Thomas The deal is for $37.5 million for five years
This is the granddaddy of all signings and may have landed NE back in the super bowl. This man is a STUD!!!!

After visiting Seattle and looking at Cleveland, free-agent guard Kris Dielman opted to re-sign with San Diego
You got used Seattle. Get over it

The 49ers have signed CB Nate Clements to the biggest contract ever given to a defensive player -- eight years, $80 million, including $22 million guaranteed
Scratch Leonard Davis as the worst signing. If his name aint Champ Bailey, he aint worth 80 million

The Miami Dolphins and LB Joey Porter have reached agreement on a five-year, $32.5 million deal that includes $20 million worth of guaranteed money.
Too much guaranteed money for a big mouth who will not play well out of the Dick Lebeau defensivesystem.

Free-agent quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo visited the Cleveland Browns and is scheduled to visit the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers later this week
Good for Marques. I hope he finds a good home outside of Raider Hell

Free-agent RB T.J. Duckett is in Detroit visiting with Lions. Duckett is scheduled to visit the New York Jets on Wednesday and the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday
Hmmmm Duckett in a Seahawks Uniform? That’s a solid Veteran backup to Alexander, plus a good 4th and 1 bowling ball.

Thomas Jones Traded to the New York Jets.
Ahhh TJ. Life may be greener in uniform for the Jets, but you’ll miss a solid Chicago Offensive Line.

Jeff Garcia signed with Tampa Bay
The Bucs have the #3 overall pick, a solid defense and are going to be improved. I placed a futures bet on them on Friday in Vegas at 75-1. (Before they signed Garcia)

Drew Bennett signs with Rams.
This is an interesting signing. A 6-5 Wide Receiver vs Kelly Herndon. This matchup does not favor the Hawks Defense

Im sure there will be more to come, however I wanted to add my 2 cents

Its Not 300

Striking out from Korea, land of hammers and mayhem comes this year's surprise foreign film joy. The Host debuts this week on Friday, March 9th.

As many of the Lodgers know, Korea has been on the New Wave of film from Asia. Host director Bong Joon-Ho made his first big mark with a Police Noir film placed in 80's dictatorship Korea. He followed up with the release of The Host in Korea on July 27, 2006 and hit #1 Best Selling Film of 2006 with 13,019,740 nationwide. The next closest U.S. film was The Da Vinci code with a miniscule 3,339,082 .

(The opening formaldehyde scene is based on a real-life political scandal with U.S. dumping of chemicals into the Korean environment. An apology was later issued by the U.S. 8th Army.)

The film was originally titled "Creature" or Gwoemul in Korean. Its believed that the creature is a "host" for some kind of mutated virus which gives us its U.S. title. Synopsis is: Mutated monster rises out of city river and attacks innocent citizens. From what I can tell of this film, it takes a kind of loser family, and drives them to find courage to search for their youngest female family member taken by "the host". I would say its a funny-monster movie. (Or imagine your little brother got kidnapped and the only people with you are your crazy uncle, lazy cousin, frantic sister, not to mention your un-athletic self. At least thats how I imagine it for myself.)

Bong mentions that he found inspiration from a quirky childhood reading about Loch Ness and other monsters. In a way, he's a member of the Nessie Alliance.

Local Showings going on 03.09.07:

Bellevue, WA: Lincoln Square Stadium 16

Lynnwood, WA: Alderwood 16

Seattle, WA: Neptune Theatre

This seems to be one of the biggest releases of a South Korean film in the States. For Asian films overall, its refreshing that American audiences can now be exposed to Asian movies that don't deal with magical kung-fu and ancient empires. Asian-Americans everywhere will rejoice at their new liberation from stereotypes and induction into modernity.

Bong Joon-Ho has shown this film at the Toronto Film Festival and Cannes. Its received a lot of good attention and continues to raise the bar in film medium and drag the audiences out of mainstream movie constructs. Although, the Host does have a resemblance of a blockbuster film from Hollywood and less of the edgy extreme plot some of us are used to from Korea. It still remains essentially Korean by driving a family together into the old-school Confucian ethics against the new modern monsters we've created.

Hawks make a splash in the free agent market. The Hawks have signed DE Patrick Kerney.

The total value of the contract is $39.5 million and $19.5 million is guaranteed. Richard Rosa, one of Kerney's agents, confirmed the deal.

Kerney missed the last 7 games of the 2006 season due to a torn B00b… How do the Lodge representatives of Hawk nation feel about this signing? Excited, nothing special, solid… He looks like a Grant Winstrom retread to me...

Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting

I figure that if Train is going to do a “Gym-Kata” post, I had to post with another awesomely horrible martial arts film (out Tommorrow on DVD!):

“King Kung Fu”

It tells the story of a Gorilla who is the pet of an old Karate Master. The Gorilla leans Karate from his master, and eventually is able to defeat his master at Karate. So what does the master do? He ships that Monkey to the USA! Shenanigans ensue.

Because what’s the only thing better than Karate? A MONKEY doing Karate! I saw this flick as a kid, and even then it was cheesy as hell.

Worth a netflix rental, as long as you intend on being in an altered state of mind upon viewing.

Also...finally got around to seeing “Tenacious D & the Pick of Destiny”. Personally, I dug it and thought it was funny, but pretty stupid. I could easily see it being like fingernails on a chalkboard if you don’t like the D. If you didn’t dig their album, stay away!
